This position serves as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and staff by delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate medical and administrative records. The MOA is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, maintaining the confidentiality of health information, and supporting clinical workflows to uphold the mission of HHC. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Review provider's schedule and compile patient list for team huddle. </li><li>Review Electronic Medical Record (EMR) using appropriate templates for patient preparation. </li><li>Check and notify providers of lab/diagnostic test results; obtain missing results if necessary. </li><li>Gather information for patients with recent ER visits, hospitalizations, or specialist visits to ensure continuity of care. </li><li>Identify needs of patients with chronic conditions and facilitate care coordination or additional HHC services. </li><li>Capture accurate medical history, vital signs, and document chief complaints in EMR. </li><li>Assist with routine or specialized procedures under the provider's direction, ensuring quality patient care. </li><li>Aid in medical examinations as directed by the provider. </li><li>Support patients in setting and monitoring goals, providing necessary information, and directing them to care coordinators or HHC services. </li><li>Track and communicate test results to relevant parties. </li><li>Assist with nurse scheduling, adapt to daily schedule changes, and support team members when required. </li><li>Maintain the cleanliness of rooms and reusable medical equipment following proper protocols. </li><li>Ensure adequate stock of medical supplies in exam rooms, adhering to storage and safety measures outlined by the department and nursing leadership. </li><li>Practice safety, environmental, and infection control measures per protocol. </li><li>Maintain patient confidentiality as per HIPAA regulations and comply with OSHA, DOH, and Joint Commission standards. </li><li>Assist student employees as directed by management. </li><li>Familiarity with Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) principles to advise patients on available services at HHC. </li><li>Adherence to Hamilton Health Center policies, including clinical, employee, and compliance policies. </li><li>Perform other assigned job-related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Healthcare Knowledge: A strong understanding of healthcare services and medical terminology. </li><li>Tech-Savvy: Proficient in basic data entry and computer skills. </li><li>Strong Interpersonal Skills: Capable of communicating courteously and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. </li><li>Team Player: Possesses a diligent and cooperative attitude that fosters positive working relationships with clinic management, physicians, clinicians, and the public. </li><li>Education: Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Active CPR/First Aid certification </li><li>One (1) year of working experience in a medical or physician office setting. </li><li>Knowledge of The Joint Commission regulations </li><li>Bilingual in Spanish, Nepali, and French </li></ul> <p>EOE</p>
