<p>The 1800 Flowers Manager of Warehouse and Transportation Operations (Green Pointe) manages the execution of daily warehouse related activities including receiving, picking, shipping, transportation (CDL drivers), and operational/financial planning. This position provides direct and indirect supervision, leadership and development of approximately 10-15 full-time non-exempt employees and up to 75 seasonal employees at various peaks throughout the year.</p> <p>The individual in this role primarily leads the Warehouse and Transportation Operations for the Green Pointe distribution facility which includes processing goods and materials for multiple internal brands using various WMS and transportation/shipping systems. Merchandise flow includes shipments between our different Columbus facilities along with transportation to wholesale and direct consumers. The position generally works Mon-Fri during AM hours and will have some local travel with some leadership responsibility at both our Groveport and Obetz sites, with additional hours during peak seasons.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.</p> <ul> <li>Lead warehouse functions across the sites as related to WMS and transportation systems </li><li>Manage, train, coordinate staff of 3-4 CDL drivers with pickups and deliveries across several central Ohio locations (candidate does not need to have their CDL certification) </li><li>Develop staff for future opportunities, including a more self-directed workforce by providing constructive feedback and writing and conducting performance reviews. </li><li>Drive culture of accountability for increasing efficiencies, accuracy and process control </li><li>Lead effective communication with internal and external departments including production, inventory control, maintenance, shipping, store locations, brand partners, FedEx </li><li>Manage daily activities while meeting budgetary goals and identifying risks of financial variances </li><li>Ensure associate compliance with business onboarding, safety and training programs </li><li>Serve as the Project Manager for all post season and continuous improvement projects </li><li>Increase retention by fostering a respectful team environment that supports workplace values </li><li>Lead team by demonstrating professional communication, a strong sense of focus on the customer, and timely problem solving for business results </li><li>Responsible for employee and food safety by following all security, GMP & SQF practices </li><li>Manage day-to-day problems and issues by working directly with appropriate partners </li><li>Effectively collaborate with business teams including human resources, recruiting and operations to forecast and prepare for peak staffing needs </li><li>Participate and implement long term business growth plans /projects including; automation, increased capacity and thru-put, improved use of technology </li><li>Lead brand and enterprise projects along with other duties as assigned </li><li>Drive a culture of continuous improvement while retaining/developing world-class diverse talent. </li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Business or a business-related field is preferred; minimum of 5+ years of distribution and warehouse experience </li><li>Experience managing at least 50 non-exempt associates reporting indirectly to this position. </li><li>Strong proficiency in utilizing WMS and LMS programs. </li><li>Experience Oracle Cloud knowledge a plus </li><li>Experience with developing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operations and financial objectives. </li><li>Strong tactical management history with start-up warehouse experience preferred </li></ul>
