<p>QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree and content certification required</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principals</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Building Principals and the Supervisor of English Learner Program, the lead teacher shall: Provide leadership with the implementation, coordination and organization of the Grades 7-12 World Languages Department curriculum. Facilitate PLCs, departmental meetings and coordinate activities among teachers in the World Languages Department. Make specific recommendations regarding implementation of World Languages programs including specific recommendations for instructional improvements. Coordinate the implementation of the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy and Seal of Biliteracy with Distinction, including outreach to students and families, promotion of eligibility requirements, and oversight of assessment administration. Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and world language teachers to identify eligible students, track progress toward proficiency, and ensure timely recognition and award of the Seal. Promote equitable access to the Seal of Biliteracy by supporting multilingual learners, heritage speakers, and underrepresented student groups in meeting proficiency requirements. Assist in orienting new teachers in the department and assist in assigning mentors to new teachers. Attend meetings outside of the regular work day as required. May be directed to play a role in interviewing candidates for teaching positions. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Building Principals or the Supervisor of English Learner Program.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Must be available after the school day Part-time employment</p> <p>SALARY Stipend in Accordance with Unit A Contract</p>
