<p>Job Purpose</p> <p>An opportunity to join a well-established and growing organization who is looking to fill a Maintenance Technician mechanic position. Any relevant steel experience is preferred, but not required.</p> <ul> <li>Primary Duties and Responsibilities </li></ul> <p>Make repairs to buildings, perform basic carpentry and painting operations, build partitions,</p> <p>benches, repair furniture, etc.</p> <p>Tear down machines, equipment or check piping, valves, or electrical equipment to determine</p> <p>extent of trouble and make minor repairs, obtain approval on major troubles, and make repairs</p> <p>following approval.</p> <p>Perform machine operations to make minor replacement parts, replace worn or broken parts</p> <p>and reassemble, fitting parts, scraping, and reaming bearings and adjusting machine to provide</p> <p>proper operation.</p> <p>Maintain and install electrical lines and equipment in connection with plant rearrangement or</p> <p>new equipment.</p> <p>Make repairs or replacements in air, steam, oil or gas lines and controls.</p> <p>Carry on preventive maintenance prescribed schedule.</p> <p>Perform basic fork truck tune-ups and repairs.</p> <p>Position Requirements</p> <p>Strong ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and piping charts.</p> <p>Good mathematical and computer skills</p> <p>Knowledge of company polices and safety rules.</p> <p>Knowledge of labor cards, routing and move tickets.</p> <p>Basic arc (SMAW) welding skills.</p> <p>Understanding of press operation.</p> <p>Strong verbal and written communication</p> <p>Will have to travel when needed</p> <p>Welding certificate required</p> <p>Competence in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical energy, 3 phase motors and controllers,</p> <p>familiarity with basic hand tools</p> <p>A sense of urgency when responding to call and repairs</p> <p>Familiar with cranes trouble shooting</p> <p>HVAC and refrigerant systems skills.</p> <p>Certified forklift operator</p> <p>Comply with company policies, procedures, shop and safety rules</p>
