The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The NBCUniversal Local duopoly in New York, WNBC/WNJU, is looking for a highly-motivated bilingual Multi-Platform Content and Social Video Producer to produce English- and Spanish-language text and video content for our various platforms, including websites, apps and social media channels. The Multi-Platform Content and Social Video Producer will help drive coverage through collaboration, writing, producing and editing stories and social videos each day while working across the duopoly newsroom with reporters, anchors and producers. This individual should have excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, and a competitive drive to win.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Manage production of articles and video for the WNBC and WNJU websites by making phone calls, verifying content on social media, and working with coworkers in the newsroom and the field, on topics ranging from weather and breaking news to features and lifestyle content </li><li>Write and translate articles and content in Spanish and English across platforms for WNBC and WNJU </li><li>Curate the websites, sending push alerts to drive traffic as content warrants, as well as YouTube channels </li><li>Execute on SEO best practices in selecting and creating content daily for websites and social media </li><li>Monitor social media channels and Google Trends for breaking and trending news </li><li>Create multimedia content to enhance daily news coverage (i.e. video, live streams, social graphics, slideshows) across all platforms, including FAST streaming channels </li><li>Collaborate with on-air reporters and anchors on social media videos, editing and distributing content </li><li>Collaborate with staff of lifestyle programs Acceso Total and New York Live supporting digital and social efforts </li><li>Work with editors at the NBCU Local National team and Telemundo Content Center, as well as colleagues at other NBCU Local stations to partner on content </li><li>Coordinate with news producers to cross-promote on-air and online content </li><li>Quickly learn the site's audience and write and distribute content based on this audience. Track the metrics and analytics on a regular basis to inform content and strategy decisions </li><li>Support the social media strategy for WNJU and WNBC's social media accounts by posting relevant content (links, videos, photos/graphics) throughout the day so that the voice, tone, and mix of content fits with the overall editorial strategy on-air and online and delivers on key metrics. </li><li>Contribute as needed to linear/broadcast platforms, which could include writing of scripts or editing video </li><li>Abide by the ethical standards of the NBC News Group and Telemundo Station Group when creating and producing content for all platforms </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>At least 1 year of experience as an editor, writer or producer creating content at a news organization or blog working under tight deadlines </li><li>Fluency and accuracy in writing and speaking Spanish and English </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X etc </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of video editing tools like Adobe Premiere and social video editing/captioning tools like CapCut or Canva </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of AP Style writing and guidelines </li><li>Must be willing to work early mornings (4am-Noon), as well as work Saturdays and Sundays in New York City </li><li>Must be willing to work in-office five days a week </li></ul> <p>Desired Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Team player mentality, but also able to work solo on shifts as a self-starter </li><li>Exceptional communication skills </li><li>Strong news or editorial judgment </li><li>Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices and demonstrated ability to create content based on current or upcoming search trends to drive traffic </li><li>Knowledge of SEO tools, including Google Trends and Google Search Consoles </li><li>Proficiency in video editing software like Adobe Premiere and After Effects </li><li>Proficiency in photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop </li><li>Experience in editing video for news or other branded social media accounts or influencer-driven accounts </li><li>Experience with WordPress VIP, SocialFlow, and push alert publishing tools a plus </li><li>Experience with website tracking and analytics tools, including Parse.ly, a plus </li><li>Excellent news instincts and judgment with the ability to react decisively to breaking news </li><li>Ability to work on multiple tasks and stories simultaneously in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Knowledge of the New York City area or previous newsroom experience in the Tri-State is considered a plus </li></ul> <p>Eligibility Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Interested candidate must submit a resume/CV through www. nbcunicareers. com to be considered </li><li>Must be willing to submit to a background investigation </li><li>Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States </li><li>Must be willing to work in New York, NY </li><li>Must be 18 years or older </li><li>Must have the ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift </li><li>Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal's Alternative Dispute Resolution program </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>As part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
