<p>Position Title Assistant Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach Posting Number AS997P Subdivision Athletic Director's Office Division Athletics Department Acrobatics and Tumbling Location Erie, Pa Position Summary</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Assistant Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach is a full-time, 12-month position. The position is responsible for assisting the Head Acrobatics & Tumbling Coach in all aspects of the nationally competitive Acrobatics & Tumbling team. The Acrobatics & Tumbling team will compete in the National College Acrobatics & Tumbling Association, and adheres to NCAA compliance, as an NCAA emerging sport. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Assists with recruiting student-athletes that are committed to academic and athletic excellence.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists head coach with team training and various administrative responsibilities including, but not limited to community service, academic support, fundraising, and recruiting.</p> </li><li> <p>Trains, strengthens, and develops all student-athletes.</p> </li><li> <p>Learns, understands, and complies with all NCATA, NCAA, and Gannon University policies and requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Promotes and represents the University whenever possible.</p> </li><li> <p>Has adequate training and background to properly plan, implement, train, and coach elite-level acrobatics and tumbling skill sets.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the development and implementation of a year-round strength & conditioning program.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the development and implementation of camps and clinics.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication and collaboration skills within the program, department, and University.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility and requirements of the job.</p> </li></ol> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education: A bachelor's degree; working knowledge of NCATA and NCAA rules and an understanding of the philosophy behind them. Must successfully complete the USA Gymnastics' safety course.</p> <p>University Mission: Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.</p> <p>Experience: Gymnastics/Cheer/Acrobatics & Tumbling experience at the collegiate level. Coaching experience at the high school level or higher is strongly preferred.</p> <p>Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license in good standing and CPR, AED, and First Aid certified.</p> <p>Skills: Must have excellent communication and organization skills and technical knowledge of acrobatics and tumbling skill sets combined with the ability to effectively teach and coach them. Must be a self-starter, willing to learn, and passionate about creating a positive, productive atmosphere for student-athletes.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree and prior collegiate competitive and/or coaching experience.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with a busy athletic team schedule. Able to assist head coach with spotting student-athletes, overhead spotting rig, and mat movement as needed.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a busy University setting.
