<p>Leader in Training (LIT) - Summer Program</p> <p>Role Overview</p> <p>The Leader in Training position is a hands-on learning opportunity for individuals looking to develop leadership skills while supporting the Pegasus Summer Program. LITs assist Group Leaders, Instructors, and Program Coordinators in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities while fostering a positive and inclusive program environment.</p> <p>This role is designed to provide mentorship, skill-building, and real-world experience for those interested in working with children and youth in an educational or recreational setting.</p> <p>General Responsibilities</p> <p>Program Support & Leadership Development</p> <ul> <li>Provide support for program activities, ensuring students are engaged and following program guidelines. </li><li>Assist in age-appropriate activity delivery as directed by the Program Coordinator, Instructors, or Group Leader. </li><li>Act as a peer leader, helping with activity planning and execution under supervision. </li><li>Develop leadership skills through hands-on experience, mentorship, and collaboration with senior staff. </li><li>Focus on learning program procedures and assisting in activities under close supervision. </li><li>Build and maintain meaningful relationships with students, fostering a positive and supportive environment. </li></ul> <p>Student Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Help ensure all students are engaged and supported in programming, contributing to inclusive practices. </li><li>Assist students during transitions between activities, helping with group management. </li><li>Provide additional one-on-one or small-group support to students who need it. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development & Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training throughout the summer. </li><li>Work closely with the Program Coordinator and Instructors to support program success. </li><li>Take initiative in problem-solving and teamwork while receiving guidance from senior staff. </li><li>Support program setup, cleanup, and materials organization. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform additional duties as reasonably assigned by the Program Coordinator or Director. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School student or recent graduate (ages 16+). </li><li>Interest in education, child development, or recreational leadership. </li><li>Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills. </li><li>Enthusiasm for working with children and creating a fun, inclusive environment. </li><li>Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <ul> <li>$19.52 - $20.05 per hour, based on experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must have U.S. citizenship, residency, or a valid work visa. </li><li>Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I.), and fingerprinting (if applicable). </li></ul>
