<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position provides direct supervision and guidance to unit supervisors and staff, as assigned, located throughout the State and the Retail Food Program Standards/NEARS Coordinator. The position is responsible for staff who license and inspect food, lodging, and recreational businesses, such as grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants, mobile and temporary food vendors, and other retail food establishments; food warehouses; hotels, tourist rooming houses, and bed and breakfast businesses; pools and water attractions; campgrounds; and recreational / educational camps.</p> <p>Full Position Description</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The classification of this position is Chief Regulatory Technical Services, which is in schedule-range 81-02 with a starting pay of $45.00-51.00 per hour based on qualifications.</p> <p>This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. A two-year trial period for Career Executives is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan at the time of hire.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>At DATCP, we strive to deliver efficient and effective programs and services to Wisconsin agriculture, consumers, and businesses. The Department has numerous on-the-job training (OJT) opportunities, unique to each Bureau.</p> <p>These OJT opportunities include state supervisor training, procedure, policy and statute review, job aids, and continuing education opportunities.</p> <p>Conditions of Employment:</p> <p>DATCP does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the selected applicant being able to provide documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.</p> <p>A criminal background check will be performed on the selected applicant prior to an offer of employment.</p> <p>Possession of a valid driver's license or the ability to provide one's own transportation for work purposes is required.</p> <p>Majority of work is completed in an office environment, but regular in-state travel, with occasional overnight stays, is required. Travel is required for approximately 20% of this position's duties.</p> <p>Must possess and maintain a Wisconsin Registered Sanitarian (R.S.) credential or a National Environmental Health Association Registered Environmental Health Specialist (R.E.H.S.) credential.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a Wisconsin Registered Sanitarian (RS) or NEHA REHS/Registered Sanitarian (RS) certification </li><li>Experience with the food safety principles of food production, storage, handling and/or distribution </li><li>Experience with application of regulations </li><li>Experience with informal leadership, such as directing, assigning, and managing work of others. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the minimum qualifications above, highly qualified candidates will have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in a retail environment such as grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants, mobile and temporary food vendors, and other retail food establishments</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in a recreational environment such as hotels, tourist rooming houses, and bed and breakfast businesses; pools and water attractions; campgrounds; and recreational / educational camps</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with implementing and meeting state and/or federal standards</p> </li><li> <p>Experience serving in a formal supervisory role (including: resolving conflict, coaching, mentoring and empowering employees, evaluating employee performance, hiring, discipline, assigning work, etc.)</p> </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>If viewing this posting on an external site (such as indeed.com, etc.), please visit Wisc.Jobs and search for this Job ID: #20667 to complete your application for this posting.</p> <p>DATCP is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
