The Division of Senior and Adult Services (DSAS) empowers seniors (ages 60+) and disabled adults to age successfully by providing resources and support that preserve their independence. DSAS strives to keep seniors safe, supported, and independent, so they can live their best lives.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Renders personal care such as oral hygiene; assisting with baths/bed baths; shampooing; care of skin; giving bed pan; feeding of patients and preparing special diets; taking and recording of temperature, pulse, and respiration; changing simple dressings and bandages; putting on and caring for simple appliances; assisting with simple exercises, assisting with transfers and ambulation; and helping with proper body alignment. May provide assistance with medications that are ordinarily self-administered (limited to monitoring, reminder, and reporting). Complete documentation/charting as required by agency, state, and federal accreditation standards. Accepts responsibility for maintaining a professional relationship to the agency's clients and their families. </li><li>Observes for sudden changes in a patient's condition and reports changes timely to the nurse. Helps and motivates patient to maintain good standards of personal hygiene and safety. Shopping and preparing meals. Assisting with household management during convalescence at home. Performs light housekeeping duties such as laundry, changing bed linen, dusting, washing dishes, and floor cleaning. </li><li>Attend case conferences when requested. Attend on-going training for update and enhancement of skills to maintain certification requirement. Perform all related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Current Ohio certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) </li><li>Ability to read and write common vocabulary; ability to perform simple arithmetic. </li><li>Valid driver license, proof of acceptable automobile insurance coverage, and use of a reliable vehicle during working hours. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <ul> <li>CPR and First Aid certified. </li></ul> <p>Premium pay may be applied for those who meet the criteria and are designated by the County as "bi-lingual".</p> <p>Application Process</p> <p>The is a non-competitive, classified position. The Personnel Review Commission (PRC) will check your application to make sure you meet the minimum qualifications. If you do, the PRC will put your name on an eligibility list. To fill this opening, the PRC sends the hiring department and Human Resources (HR) a certified eligibility list. HR helps the hiring department decide who from the certified list to follow up with for interviews and then a job offer.</p> <p>Most of our communication with candidates is through email.
