<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Dunklin R-5 School District has an opening at Senn Thomas Middle School for the position of Special Education Teacher servicing students in grades 6-8 with social and emotional deficits. The position will be for the 2025-2026 school year. Under the direction of the Building Principal and Director of Student Services, the Special Education Teacher will develop and provide specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, function as IEP Case Manager for assigned students, and foster positive relationships with students.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Provide instruction and support to students according to their IEPs </li><li>Create and implement a classroom and individual disciplinary plan </li><li>Work cooperatively with the district behavior specialists and general education teachers to develop effective programming for students </li><li>Create lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction according to each student's individualized needs </li><li>Provide leadership and oversight to paraprofessionals </li><li>Participating in professional development activities </li><li>Maintain accurate and compliant student records </li><li>Provide effective and timely communication to parents </li><li>Other duties as may be assigned </li></ul> <p>Starting Date: August 1, 2025</p> <p>Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience. (First year teacher base salary of $42,250; Step 1)</p> <p>Certification: K-12 Mild/Moderate Cross-Categorical or a comparable special education certification</p> <p>Benefits: Board Paid Health, Life, and Dental Insurance. Employees will be offered, on a fee basis, in-district childcare for ages birth through two, with preschool available from ages 3-5. PSRS Retirement, optional supplemental insurance plans, and optional 403b; 457 plans.
