This is subject to change due to the BHA's needs.</p> <p>8-5 Monday through Friday</p> <p>Please note: These working arrangements are subject to change.</p> <p>Serves as the strategic leader for behavioral health crisis services and emergency services, including leading and supervising a team of staff who provide representation and training for substance use involuntary commitments. It uses this expertise to provide training and technical assistance to contractors, providers, and stakeholders, to represent BHA on different interagency and intra-agency groups and committees, and maintains a working knowledge of systems and funding that support the provision of crisis and emergency services to Coloradans. This position provides subject matter expertise and team leadership regarding the delivery of services and supports to people experiencing a behavioral health crisis to include those needing emergency and involuntary commitment and behavioral health transportation. This is the manager within the Adult Behavioral Health Continuum Division whose team has responsibilities for individuals who are on substance use disorder involuntary commitments, supporting the BHASOs in building an effective statewide infrastructure for crisis services, including regional walk in centers and crisis stabilization units, and mobile crisis services, and respite care, as well as, behavioral health secure transport support. </p> <p>Integrating these services into the existing landscape of emergency departments, emergency medical response, and law enforcement response requires keen system knowledge and awareness of national best practices and emerging trends. The purpose of expanded behavioral health crisis services is to provide a better systemic response when someone is experiencing a behavioral health crisis, including those who are in need of involuntary treatment for substance use. Increasing public safety is a primary goal, while decreasing utilization of emergency departments, psychiatric hospitals, overutilization of 911 and incarceration. </p> <p>This position provides subject matter expertise and assists the BHA Quality and Standards team with revisions of the Behavioral Health Administration's treatment rules and regulations outlined in 2 CCR 502-1 Behavioral Health Provider Rules. Additionally, this position assists with the BHA Quality and Standards team by providing consultation on complaints and licensing monitoring visits related to crisis and emergency services. </p> <p>This position also provides subject matter expertise to the BHA BHASO Division and BHASOs to assist in the revisions of Statements of Work related to crisis services, as well as, involuntary commitment for substance use. This position is responsible for providing subject matter expertise to create and/or revise documents related to crisis and emergency services to include updating national reporting documents annually, various BHA related documents, and SAMHSA related needs. This position is also responsible for managing direct contract management of programs that are adjacent to crisis and emergency services that are not managed through BHASOs such as veteran's mental health programs.</p> <p>Duties of the position:</p> <p>Crisis and Emergency Services Program Management, Supervision & Leadership</p> <p>This position serves as the strategic leader for behavioral health crisis services and emergency services. </p> <p>This position provides subject matter expertise and team leadership for services and supports to youth and adults experiencing behavioral health crises, including those needing emergency and involuntary commitment and behavioral health transportation. </p> <p>This position leads and supervises a team of staff providing representation and training for substance use involuntary commitments. </p> <p>Crisis and Emergency Services Technical Assistance </p> <p>Provide technical assistance and consultation to BHASOs, contractors, providers, and stakeholders regarding crisis and emergency services best practices. </p> <p>Maintain working knowledge of systems and funding that support the provision of crisis and emergency services to Coloradans. </p> <p>State and National Reporting, Standards and Document Management</p> <p>This position provides subject matter expertise and assists the BHA Quality and Standards team with authoring revisions of the Behavioral Health Administration's treatment rules and regulations, authoring the revisions of Statements of Work related to crisis services and involuntary commitment for substance use. </p> <p>Create, author, and/or revise documents and presentations related to crisis and emergency services.</p> <p>Contract Management (Non-BHASO Programs) </p> <p>This position directly manages contracts for programs adjacent to crisis and emergency services that are not managed through BHASOs, such as veterans' mental health programs. </p> <p> </p> <p>Experience Only:</p> <p>Eight (8) years of relevant experience in Crisis and/or Involuntary Substance Use Services assigned to this position</p> <p>Or</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>Master's in a Behavioral Health Field and/or relevant experience in Crisis and/or Involuntary Substance Use Services related to the work assigned, equal to eight (8) years</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's degree in a behavioral health field</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred License in a behavioral health field</p> </li><li> <p>Experience supervising subordinate staff</p> </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment:</p> <ul> <li>This position is delegated as a hybrid position.
