<p>About the Job</p> <p>Position Title: CLS Outreach Assistant</p> <p>Department: Chicano and Latino Studies (CLS)</p> <p>Position Type: TEMP/CASUAL 0001</p> <p>The Department of Chicano and Latino Studies (CLS) is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Assistant to support the Programs and Outreach team. This position will play a key role in advancing the department's community engagement, digital presence, and archival efforts. The assistant will contribute to the development of a sustainable outreach infrastructure and help foster meaningful connections between the University and Latinx communities.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>? Outreach Infrastructure Development:</p> <p>? Design and implement an organizational framework for CLS outreach initiatives.</p> <p>? Support the strategic planning of outreach programs and events.</p> <p>? Collaborate with faculty, students, staff, and community stakeholders to strengthen University-community partnerships.</p> <p>? Website and Digital Engagement:</p> <p>? Assist in the design and content development of the CLS Outreach section of the department website.</p> <p>? Ensure the site serves as a hub for resources, community engagement, and academic-public collaborations.</p> <p>? Create accessible and culturally relevant content to highlight CLS outreach activities and partnerships.</p> <p>? Oral History and Archival Projects:</p> <p>? Organize and catalog oral histories and interviews conducted by CLS faculty and</p> <p>? Coordinate the integration of these materials into the department's website and YouTube channel in an accessible and engaging manner.</p> <p>? Develop workflows and best practices for digital and physical archiving.</p> <p>? Administrative and Organizational Support:</p> <p>? Manage files, archives, and documentation both digitally and in physical formats.</p> <p>? Establish clear procedures and systems for storing and retrieving outreach-related materials.</p> <p>? Map and document workflows for ongoing and future outreach projects.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>? Lived experience and/or demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Latinx and first-generation college students.</p> <p>? Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (oral and written).</p> <p>? Experience with website design and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).</p> <p>? Familiarity with archival practices and oral history methodologies.</p> <p>? Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.</p> <p>? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</p> <p>? Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a timely and efficient manner.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>Pay Range: $27.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.</p> <p>Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
