<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The incumbent Adjunct supporting the College of Business will be expected to provide classroom instruction in a variety of business disciplines, including but not limited to: Accounting, Construction Management, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, International Business, Management and Marketing; Develop a syllabus and assignments that meet course objectives; conference with students, maintain records on and evaluate student performance.</p> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>$1,150 per credit - Doctorate candidates</p> <p>$1,050 per credit - Masters candidates</p> <p>This is a part-time position with per-course compensation. Open to both in-person and remote Instructor applicants.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A Master's degree in business or a closely related field; or a Bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant professional experience. </li><li>Proven successful college-level teaching experience. </li><li>Proficiency in relevant areas of business expertise. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A graduate degree in a related field with a minimum of five years of professional experience in relevant business disciplines (e.g., industry, consulting, or government). </li><li>Successful college-level teaching experience, ideally at both undergraduate and graduate levels. </li><li>Professional certifications related to the discipline (e.g., CPA for Accounting, CFA for Finance, PMP for Management). </li><li>Experience in curriculum development and innovation in teaching methods, including online and hybrid course delivery. </li><li>Ability to integrate real-world business scenarios and case studies into the classroom to enhance student learning. </li><li>Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment. </li><li>Evidence of continued professional development in the field (e.g., research, publications, participation in industry associations). </li></ul> <p>Other Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Report to work obligations to support the department, which may require work during HPU's winter break, if necessary. </li><li>Must meet training and background check qualifications. </li><li>Able to teach classes scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends. </li><li>Able to teach classes at multiple locations on Oahu. </li><li>Successful candidate will be able to work in an environment that requires excellent time and stress management skills. </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Develop syllabi in line with model syllabi, assigned textbooks, and department, college, and university policies (8%) </li><li>Prepare individual classes; maintain records of student progress and assign grades (72%) </li><li>Hold office hours and respond to student questions (1 hour/course) (12%) </li><li>Participate in training sessions (3%) </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned (5%) </li><li>???????Actively participates as an effective member of the team by completing assigned duties, accepting additional assignments or reassignments. </li></ul> <p>This description is not designed to list all activities, duties or responsibilities which may be required for this job.
