Major Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, and according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, assists in data collection and care and treatment of patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Accurately and as directed obtains and records patient data; vital signs, 12 lead EKGs, testing of specimens, patient weights and measurements, Intake and Output.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists patients with activities of daily living, feeding, personal hygiene, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with positioning, turning, and range of motion exercises, with the exception of using lifting equipment to lift patients.</p> </li><li> <p>Appropriately performs treatments such as application of heat and cold; application of ace bandages, binders, stockings; application of restraints under the direction of a nurse.</p> </li></ol> <p>II. Position Qualifications:</p> <p>License/Certification/Education:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Current Basic Life Support Certification required within 30 days of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Suicide Prevention and De-escalation learning modules, as well as Constant Observer Training must be completed if a PCA I will be working as a Patient Observer in the Medical/Surgical area for Suicide Risk patient.
