<p>VSC-United Professionals (PAT/SUP) Grade 12</p> <p>Part-Time</p> <p>BASIC FUNCTION</p> <p>The VTSU Teacher Education Placement Coordinator serves as the liaison between schools, cooperating teachers, and students. The Placement coordinator finds placements for practicum students and student teachers and processes and maintains documentation about placements.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Serve as liaison with school administrators, cooperating teachers, and students to confirm practicum and student teaching experiences. </li><li>Establish student-facing and school-facing protocols for completing background checks and confirm placements. </li><li>Update and maintain spreadsheets with updates on student placements. </li><li>Update and maintain documentation for licensure files. </li><li>Maintain a spreadsheet with contact and other information about our history working with schools, principals, and cooperating teachers. </li><li>Develop and maintain a placement coordination handbook of procedures and policies. </li><li>Communicate reliably and regularly with students, other Placement Coordinator, Licensure Office Manager, Licensure Officer, and Program Directors about placement coordination. </li><li>Troubleshoot with students, schools, and faculty when unexpected changes emerge. </li><li>Join weekly, biweekly, and monthly meetings with the VTSU Teacher Education team </li><li>Attend Teacher Education Workshops in order to get to know students and make sure information shared is consistent. </li><li>Conduct make-up Teacher Education Workshops for students unable to attend the large-group meetings. </li><li>Visit 2-3 classes per semester to touch base with students about their placements. </li><li>Communicate expectations with schools and Cooperating Teachers. </li><li>Review and analyze Cooperating Teacher survey data and report significant findings to the licensure officer each semester to share with the VTSU Teacher Education team. </li><li>Create and distribute certificates of participation to Cooperating Teachers </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED</p> <p>Direct supervision received from Licensure Office Manager.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Work experience in K-12 public schools </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree </li><li></li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES</p> <p>Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Solid understanding of the K-12 educational system. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Strong communication </li><li>Strong organizational skills </li><li>Self-directed </li><li>Expertise working with digital spreadsheets </li></ul> <p>Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Manage many tasks simultaneously in an organized and efficient manner. </li></ul> <p>Location: This position primarily supports student on the Castleton campus. Position can be carried out remotely, but candidate must be available to attend on campus meetings/events when necessary.</p> <p>This general outline illustrates the type of work which characterizes the job classification.
