<p>EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT - TITLE 1 PRE-K (SHORT TERM)</p> <p>JOB STATUS: OPEN</p> <p>POSTING NUMBER: 00067254</p> <p>SCHOOL YEAR: 2025-2026</p> <p>CALENDAR: Traditional</p> <p>POSTING NUMBER: 00067254</p> <p>LOCATION: 029:TITLE 1 HOMELESS</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT - TITLE 1 PRE-K (SHORT TERM)</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>Assists the cooperating teacher in the delivery of the instructional program as well as with NM FOCUS criteria.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Incumbent must achieve the following outcomes with or without reasonable accommodation:</p> <ul> <li>Works with individuals and small groups in the classroom to reinforce material introduced by the teacher. </li><li>Serves as a model in developing students' language and behavior. </li><li>Collects, prepares and arranges resource material for use by certified personnel. </li><li>Maintains classroom records, prepares reports as requested by the classroom teacher or principal, and manages supplies and classroom equipment as needed. </li><li>Monitors student activities in classrooms, school grounds, hallways, lunchrooms, field trips, bus loading areas, etc. </li><li>Provides support for non-instructional classroom duties such as monitoring snacks, restrooms, clothing areas, etc. </li><li>Participates in teacher-parent conferences and meetings as requested by classroom teacher. </li><li>Reinforces the implementation of IEP goals using similar emphasis and techniques as classroom teacher. </li><li>Trains students in self-help skills including eating, toileting, hygiene, and behavior management and academic skills. </li><li>Assists with custodial skills of students including lifting, positioning and adaptive equipment maintenance using established procedures. </li><li>Escorts students to other locations on campus and off campus with the approval of classroom teacher. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. </li><li>Flexibility, organization, problem solving skills. </li><li>Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone. </li><li>Knowledge of APS community, computer system, financial and legal requirements. </li><li>Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects and coordinate the work of others. </li><li>Previous experience in childcare preferred. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Must have an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and an Educational Assistants License from PED or take 6 credits annually towards an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education </li><li>Any EA who does not currently possess an AA in Early Childhood Education must provide evidence of successful completion of a minimum of six college credit hours towards the degree annually </li><li>Intentional Teaching: Module I-Powered Interactions and Module II-Observational Assessment must be completed within two months of hire </li><li>ECERS-3 online training (with evidence of successful completion), which must be completed within six months of hire or six months from start of FOCUS implementation </li><li>The Full Participation of Each Child, which must be completed within two years of hire or two years from start of FOCUS implementation </li><li>New Mexico Pyramid Framework, which must be completed within two years of hire or two years from the start of FOCUS implementation </li></ul> <p>CONTACT INFORMATION:</p> <p>Contact: Cristal Wilson at 505-256-8239 x 46902 / cristal.wilson@aps.edu</p> <p>APPLY TO:</p> <p>www.aps.edu/jobs</p> <p>Classified Application</p> <p>ADDITIONAL INFO:</p> <p>SALARY: G SALARY SCHEDULE</p> <p>DAYS: 189</p> <p>HOURS: 6.5</p> <p>START DATE: 01/06/2026</p>
