<p>What to Expect</p> <p>The Process Technician performs process-sustaining tasks for the manufacturing line, involving a variety of mechanical and chemical processes. These tasks include responding to out-of-control processes, working on yield improvement projects, handling special case non-conforming materials from the manufacturing line, and qualifying new equipment and processes introduced into the manufacturing line. Additionally, the technician conducts supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing, such as 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives, yield improvement, scrap reduction, production line configuration, and implementation of safety procedures.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Support Engineering and Manufacturing by improving and updating manufacturing instructions, including rework procedures, and maintaining current qualification schedules </li><li>Train associates on new or revised manufacturing instructions </li><li>Provide daily coverage of production line processes to ensure smooth operations, with a rapid response to out-of-control processes for cost minimization and productivity maximization </li><li>Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve process Cpk and product yield </li><li>Execute experiments and analyze data, including DOE and GR&R, under the direction of process engineers </li><li>Lead special case disposition of non-conformance materials from the production line, escalating issues to the production engineering team as needed </li><li>Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives; Responsible for parts and tools inventory </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li>Associate's Degree, Technical Certificate or equivalent experience </li><li>Strong proficiency in common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, etc.) </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems </li><li>Proven ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing process; Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools </li><li>Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematic </li><li>Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal </li></ul> <p>Essential Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day </li><li>Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain </li><li>Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 30 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs </li><li>Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:</p> <ul> <li>Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction </li><li>Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits </li><li>Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution </li><li>Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA </li><li>Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) </li><li>401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits </li><li>Company paid Basic Life, AD&D </li><li>Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays </li><li>Back-up childcare and parenting support resources </li><li>Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance </li><li>Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs </li><li>Tesla Babies program </li><li>Commuter benefits </li><li>Employee discounts and perks program </li></ul> <p>Tesla is an Equal Opportunity employer.
