<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the oversight of the daily operation of the Financial Aid Office, ensuring compliance with all Title IV federal regulations and policies and is responsible for awarding and processing all federal, state, institutional, and private donor need and merit based financial aid.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develops and maintains policies and procedures to set-up, track, process, award, disburse and maintain student aid files within institutional, state, and federal compliance and is responsible for the integration and use of electronic technology in delivering financial aid to students </li><li>Develops and conducts workshops/programs to enhance financial aid awareness and provide training opportunities </li><li>Oversees the Financial Aid Office operations, including supervision of staff, maintenance of web site, troubleshooting the Colleague System, etc. </li><li>Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Title IV Federal regulations and maintains and reconciles fiscal records and accounts for all federal, state, and institutional financial aid funds and is responsible for the completion and submission of the Federal Pell Payment Report, FISAP, Enrollment Verification Reports, Title IV Program Participation Agreement, and other required reporting </li><li>Coordinates with the CWC Scholarship Committee to develop, monitor and maintain the institutional scholarship programs. </li><li>Coordinates with the Admissions Office to assist in the implementation of the CWC Marketing and Recruitment plan </li><li>Develops, monitors and maintains the department operating budget </li><li>Represents the institution as a member of professional associations. </li></ul> <p>Position Specifications and Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Five years of related experience, preferable in a higher education setting. </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>None. </li></ul> <p>Equivalency Statement</p> <ul> <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered on a case-by-case basis. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Department of Education's Financial Aid Web based computer systems: COD, CPS, and FISAP. </li><li>Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Ellucian's Colleague ERP system, including system navigation, data management, and functional integration across departments. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of CWC Policies and Procedures or the ability to learn them </li><li>Knowledge of Title IV Federal Regulations or the ability to learn them </li><li>Effective presentation, communication, writing and interpersonal skills </li><li>Effective integrated computer and software skills </li><li>Effective accounting/fiscal management and analytical reasoning skills </li><li>Highly energetic and motivated with high level of personal integrity </li><li>Ability to relate with a diverse population in a professional, helpful manner </li><li>Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion </li><li>Ability to supervise the work of others </li><li>Ability to work independently while supporting a team effort </li><li>Extensive Knowledge of Ellucian's Colleague System </li></ul> <p>Level of Supervision</p> <ul> <li>Works under the general supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs. </li></ul> <p>Working Environment</p> <ul> <li>Reasonable accommodation will be extended to otherwise qualified individuals with a legally recognized disability. </li></ul> <p>Equipment Used</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed using standard office equipment including personal computer and specified programs, calculator, scanners, copy machine, and telephone. </li><li>Occasional motor vehicle operation may be required </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Tasks require variety of physical activities, which do not generally involve muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching and light lifting. Regular talking, hearing and seeing required in the normal course of performing the job. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform some essential functions. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving.. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Incumbent of the position generally performs in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls.
