<p>Position: Housing Specialist</p> <p>The Housing Specialist assures housing readiness of clients by implementing appropriate trainings and developing permanent housing options in both public and private sectors.</p> <p>Victory II is a facility that provides comprehensive services and safe, anonymous housing for individuals and their children experiencing domestic violence. To learn more about the program, copy and paste this link into a browser https://www.voa-gny.org/dv</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>The position requires a Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience in housing placement services for low-income and/or homeless population. </li><li>Knowledge of federal guidelines for public and private low-income housing required. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Clean and valid driver's license. Valid NYS Driver's license is required and is compliant with the Agency's Vehicle Operations Policy. </li></ul> <p>Candidates with related experience with domestic violence preferred.</p> <p>Housing Specialist Principal Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct housing eligibility assessments of all applicable clients. </li><li>Develop linkages with real estate companies and office of public housing. </li><li>Maintain and update listings of permanent affordable housing. </li><li>Develop and facilitate client workshops and individual sessions on skills and information necessary to acquire and maintain independent permanent housing. </li><li>Track placements and conduct follow up of clients placed into permanent housing. </li><li>Complete 2010E applications and assist clients with all forms of housing applications. </li></ul> <p>We are committed to offering our employees an exceptional comprehensive benefits package that supports their health, well-being, and personal growth.
