<p>Nature of Work</p> <p>Special Hiring Rate:$34,070</p> <p>Under direct supervision, an employee in this class performs booking/receiving duties for inmates received at the facility. This employee is responsible for verifying accurate and complete commitments, control, and accountability of inmate personal property, conducting briefings, and collecting inmate identification documents. The work involves a high degree of stress from constant contact with inmates and some danger of bodily harm. Some examples of work are properly identify inmates being committed or released from the facility; record inmate identification through uniforms and supplies; explain basic rules and regulations. The applicant must have the ability to work various duty shifts and work overtime if necessary; learn to recognize unusual inmate behaviors; read, comprehend and interpret policies, procedures, rules and regulations; ability to write accurate and concise narrative reports regarding inmate behavior or incidents; use a computer terminal for entry of data; ability to complete standardized forms; ability to interact orally or in writing; to follow written or oral direction from supervisors in a formal chain of command.</p> <p>Additionally, a person in this position will process inmates into and out of the facility. Maintain hard copies of inmate files as well as utilizing the OIS system to maintain the inmate file for the duration of the inmate's incarceration in the facility, including but not limited to reading and acting on court orders. An employee in this position will maintain proper logs to include transportation logs, housing logs, and daily movement logs. This employee would also answer calls from Magistrates, Judges, Circuit Clerks, Prosecutors, Attorneys, other facilities as well as the general public. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <ul> <li> <p>In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility. Critical Vacancy Pay Facilities: Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility, Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center), Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center, Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, and Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center) (SPB 3088)</p> </li><li> <p>Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential each fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.</p> </li><li> <p>If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary, unless transferring to another CVPF.</p> </li></ul> <p>Click The APPLY Link To Apply Online.</p> <p>IMPORTANT:Your eligibility will be based on information provided in your resume or application; therefore, make sure your resume or application is detailed and complete.
