With supportive leadership, collaborative teams, and opportunities to grow, GUARD is a place where people build meaningful, long-term careers.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>We are seeking a Claims Intern to support critical departmental functions in our Wilkes-Barre, PA office while gaining exposure to real-world processes within the insurance industry from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026.</p> <p>In this position, you will provide support for high exposure and litigated work injury claims including:</p> <ul> <li>Review claim files for coding accuracy and data integrity </li><li>Analyze prior and subsequent loss history to identify potential fraud indicators or mitigation opportunities </li><li>Assist with reserve adequacy reviews under supervision of claims leadership </li><li>Participate in experimental and pilot use of AI tools within the claims process </li><li>Gain hands-on experience across multiple lines of business within Claims, as workload and projects allow </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Strong analytical and organizational skills </li><li>Strong reading and writing skills for summarizing medical reports and legal updates </li><li>The ideal candidate is inquisitive and able to think critically </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred but not required </li><li>Perfect opportunity for college students pursuing Criminal Justice or a similar field of study </li><li>Must be local to Wilkes-Barre, PA </li></ul>
