<p>Job Title: Clinical Research Budget & Effort Analyst</p> <p>The Clinical Research Budget & Effort Analyst independently manages the build and maintenance of clinical trial budget calendars within a Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS). This role ensures that budgets accurately reflect executed agreement terms, institutional standards, and study-specific financial parameters. The analyst also tracks and organizes study staff effort allocations so that time and effort are correctly offset to applicable clinical trial budgets, supporting accurate financial reconciliation across systems. This position works closely with internal stakeholders and the CTMS vendor to maintain data integrity, billing accuracy, and consistent financial workflows for clinical research studies.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain clinical trial budget calendars in the CTMS, including initial builds and budget amendments, in accordance with executed agreements, approved budgets, institutional guidelines, and procedures. </li><li>Partner with the CTMS vendor to ensure accurate and timely completion of budget calendar builds, respond to vendor queries, and reduce unnecessary back-and-forth by providing clear and complete information. </li><li>Perform thorough quality checks on budget calendar builds to ensure compliance with institutional standard operating procedures and alignment with financial and billing requirements. </li><li>Participate in detailed budget analysis and review to confirm financial accuracy and consistency between CTMS budgets, executed agreements, and billing designations. </li><li>Troubleshoot and test budget calendar builds, visit structures, and subject management configurations in the CTMS to ensure data accuracy and proper system functionality. </li><li>Track study staff effort allocations in the CTMS or related systems to ensure effort is correctly offset to applicable clinical trial budgets, supporting accurate Workday offset entries and financial reconciliation. </li><li>Organize and manage effort data for multiple studies and support quarter-end analysis by preparing, reviewing, and summarizing effort allocation information. </li><li>Collaborate with financial analysts to justify offsets, ensure proper allocation of resources, and address questions related to effort tracking and budget alignment. </li><li>Work closely with Medicare Coverage Analysts, Financial Analysts, Accounting Specialists, study teams, and the CTMS vendor to ensure data consistency across systems and to resolve budget build and effort discrepancies. </li><li>Support financial reconciliation across studies by collaborating on the alignment of executed agreements, vendor payables, revenue tracking, and billing accuracy. </li><li>Apply a strong understanding of coverage analysis and clinical trial financial workflows to ensure billing accuracy and adherence to institutional and regulatory expectations. </li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors, providing updates, clarifications, and documentation to support efficient budget and effort processes. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with CTMS calendar build and budget build functionality, including supporting and managing budget builds within the system. </li><li>Demonstrated experience bridging clinical trial data into actionable budget inputs within a CTMS environment. </li><li>Strong understanding of coverage analysis as it relates to billing accuracy for clinical trials. </li><li>Solid knowledge of clinical trial financial workflows, including budget development, billing designations, and revenue tracking. </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a highly technical environment, including familiarity with integrated financial and research systems. </li><li>Proven ability to organize and manage effort data and support quarter-end financial and effort analysis. </li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external vendors. </li><li>Experience collaborating with financial analysts, accounting specialists, and post-award teams on financial reconciliation, revenue tracking, and billing accuracy. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to ensure budgets adhere to institutional guidelines and standard operating procedures. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience answering detailed vendor questions related to CTMS budget and calendar builds and minimizing turnaround times for clarifications. </li><li>Prior involvement in troubleshooting and testing CTMS configurations, including visit structures and subject management workflows. </li><li>Experience supporting new or evolving effort tracking processes, particularly those involving study team time and effort entry. </li><li>Familiarity with Workday or similar enterprise financial systems for offset tracking and reconciliation. </li><li>Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including coverage analysts, financial analysts, accounting specialists, and study teams. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial and operational data. </li><li>Comfort working with complex clinical trial agreements and understanding their financial
