<p>Overview</p> <p>Job Responsibilities• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing.• Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, calibration of instruments used and routine instrument maintenance and inventory control. Orders, helps track, and maintain supplies/inventory. Maintains QC information up to date in Epic.• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical error and/or adverse patient outcomes.• Supports life long learning. Helps with ongoing one-on-one training for new hires and all other staff. Supports as a backup when technical consultant/director is unavailable.• Completes assigned goals.SpecificationsExperienceDescription Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Two (2) years' experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician.Clinical laboratory experienceEducationDescription Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited MLT program, or successful completion of at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist.TrainingDescription Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Basic Life SupportSpecial SkillsDescription Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Position requires basic computer literacy skillsBasic computer literacy.LicensureDescription Minimum Required Preferred/Desired ASCP, AMT, or equivalentASCPReporting RelationshipsDoes this position formally supervise employees?
