This position is ideal for an experienced researcher excited to lead human factors work in wearable technology innovation.</p> <p>You'll drive research that directly informs product design and development-from comfort, fit, and ergonomics to usability and interaction. As a strategic partner across Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, and Product teams, you'll ensure our wearable devices deliver intuitive, comfortable, and human-centered experiences in real-world use.</p> <p>What you will do:</p> <ul> <li>Lead human factors and ergonomics research across the product development lifecycle, with a focus on physical interactions with our Oura rings. </li><li>Plan and execute studies including anthropometric analysis, comfort and fit testing, physical usability testing, contextual inquiry, and use simulation. </li></ul> <p>Collaborate closely with Industrial Design and Hardware Engineering to refine product form factors, sensor placement, material design and accompanying software product implications.</p> <ul> <li>Develop user research protocols, test fixtures, and data collection strategies for evaluating comfort, performance, and usability across a range of wear use cases and environmental factors. </li><li>Deliver clear, actionable insights that shape hardware decisions and support product validation milestones. </li><li>Contribute to cross-functional team reviews, design iterations, and documentation needed for future regulatory submissions or quality assurance. </li><li>Act as a human factors expert and lay the foundation for this rich competency within Oura's interdisciplinary design team. </li></ul> <p>This is a hybrid-remote role, with the expectation to work from our San Francisco offices at least half-time.</p>
