<p>Summary:</p> <p>Join our Accounting team in a highly visible role supporting financial planning & analysis, month-end close, and financial reporting, with a strong emphasis on cross-functional partnership and process improvement. This position is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong attention to detail, and is motivated to continuously improve the way work gets done.</p> <p>Success in this role requires the ability to balance analytical rigor with operational partnership, while supporting scalable processes that enable organic growth and acquisitions.</p> <ul> <li>Onsite position - No remote positions available* </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly management reporting packages </li><li>Analyze financial and operational KPIs and clearly communicate trends and drivers </li><li>Perform variance analysis and translate results into actionable business insights </li><li>Support executive-level summaries and board and investor materials </li><li>Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as needed </li><li>Lead portions of the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning processes </li><li>Develop quarterly forecasts, including analysis versus budget, prior forecast, and prior year </li><li>Partner with business leaders to understand key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities </li><li>Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate enhancements to existing financial and reporting processes </li><li>Work effectively across multiple systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel </li><li>Support month-end close processes, ensuring results are accurate and timely </li><li>Support financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and assist with post-acquisition system and process integration </li><li>Assist in developing consistent and scalable month-end close processes as future acquisitions are integrated </li><li>Participate in cross-functional training to support team members and enhance departmental knowledge </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support operational and financial initiatives </li></ul> <p>Skills Required for Success</p> <ul> <li>Ability to adjust communication style to suit different audiences and clearly explain complex financial topics internally and externally </li><li>Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage competing deadlines </li><li>Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with MS Great Plains is a plus </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with exceptional attention to detail </li><li>Ability to perform under pressure while meeting deadlines and maintaining a positive, service-oriented mindset </li><li>Strong communication and organizational skills with continuous improvement orientation </li><li>Knowledge of transportation management systems and the transportation industry is a plus </li></ul> <p>Education and experience requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting </li><li>3-5 years FP&A experience, including financial analysis and reporting </li><li>Transportation industry or M&A experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Work lifestyle you will experience:</p> <ul> <li>Values-based culture with a commitment to safety and creating a great place to work </li><li>Collaborative environment that values innovation, agility, and shared success </li><li>Generous work/life balance with a family-first mindset </li><li>Bottom-up decision making rather than top-down </li><li>Ongoing professional development to enhance both technical and soft skills </li><li>Opportunities to collaborate across the organization on projects that enhance employee experience </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
