As such, we educate toward a larger purpose - toward inclusion and respect, service and justice, and commitment beyond ourselves.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>This is an on-call, during the academic school year, non-exempt, hourly, staff position that comes with a competitive pay and one excellent meal daily in the Dining Hall. We welcome and encourage all individuals who meet minimum qualifications and can perform essential duties to submit their applications.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Safely drive daily morning and afternoon routes, as well as field trips and athletic events as assigned. </li><li>Adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, as well as school policies. </li><li>Practice defensive driving techniques at all times. </li><li>Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before each trip. </li><li>Promptly report any vehicle issues to the mechanic or director of facilities. </li><li>Maintain a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) and School Bus Driver Certificate. </li><li>Participate in all scheduled safety meetings and training sessions. </li><li>Ensure order and discipline among bus riders, reporting any issues to the director of facilities. </li><li>Follow all school policies for student pick-up and drop-off. </li><li>Keep the bus interior clean and check for lost items after every trip. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent education/training. </li><li>Good driving record. </li><li>Ability to obtain a CDL and School Bus Driver Certificate. </li><li>Strong intercultural competence to interact with a diverse community. </li><li>Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screenings, and Department of Transportation physical exam. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience operating a school bus or similar vehicle. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to sit for extended periods and operate hand controls. </li><li>Ability to reach, push/pull up to 30 lbs. </li><li>Ability to squat, kneel, and climb bus stairs. </li><li>Clear communication skills and good vision, including night and peripheral vision. </li></ul> <p>HOW TO APPLY:</p> <ul> <li>Visit oes.edu/careers to learn more about the School and fill out the application </li></ul> <p>NOTE FOR INTERNAL CANDIDATES: Login to the payroll system as normal, search for My Career, then select Search for Jobs.
