The Lab Lead's overarching responsibility is to assure our products are tested to find any product defects before products are approved for production.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>As required by the business, works with various products, equipment and disciplines </li><li>Gathers, coordinates and applies basic engineering data using established and appropriate or defined engineering principles and procedures </li><li>Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities </li><li>Interface with test requestors for test submissions; enter/track test submissions using laboratory test request database system. Schedule technician and equipment resources </li><li>Review product specifications and ensure test plan captures all applicable tests to meet specifications </li><li>Primary contact with outside labs to quote, source and track outsourced portions of testing </li><li>Review and approve test results and reports after completion by technician before releasing to requester </li><li>Address any items not conforming to specification </li><li>Standardizes testing and reporting </li><li>Develop new test methods as needed and perform initial testing to verify method </li><li>Configure necessary hardware and specialized test equipment as needed to complete assigned testing and provide technical know-how on particular products </li><li>Hands on testing and engineering support for first time tests, complicated tests, tests that involve higher level of skills/knowledge, product development and trouble shooting </li><li>Train technicians on proper testing procedure </li><li>Monitoring and following up on goals and any other skill improvements for technicians </li><li>Calibration of instruments as needed, training and directing calibration of instruments by other lab team members </li><li>Ensure lab cleanliness and order.
