<p>Description</p> <p>Job Summary: Responsible for counseling students in all aspects of career transition readiness, job search skills, job, military, educational or other placement, job retention, and Job Corps student exit processes. Responsible for identifying separated students who are no longer employed or in school and ensure a reconnection with another placement or school.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Creates and maintains an active caseload of separated student files, establishes a tickler system for caseload management, maintains bi-weekly or (at minimum) contact every 30 days through telephone correspondence. </li><li>Provides positive, individualized service to Job Corps graduates and documented case notes that reflect services provided. </li><li>Obtains and enters documentation in accordance with PRH requirements to verify separated student placement information. </li><li>Establishes robust relationships with employers, community colleges, and other entities to ensure successful placements with good career pathway opportunities for economic self-sufficiency. </li><li>Establishes thorough knowledge of and referrals to community-based services available to assist Job Corps graduates with successful transition into independent living. </li><li>Maintains linkages with military services, One Stop and other external resources, helps set up job interviews, arranges transportation assistance and other support services. Performs job development by screening leads from newspaper classifieds, telephone, and personal contacts, referrals, Internet, and other youth service organizations. </li><li>Conducts interviews with students entering the Career Transition Phase of CDSS. Provides re-orientation and further focus on job search techniques. </li><li>Visits classrooms and trade shops to familiarize students with Career Transition processes, employability skills, career preparation, job search, job retention, etc. Familiarizes students with military enlistment, pre-apprenticeships and entry-level job offers. </li><li>Ensures that all necessary licenses, certificates, transcripts and/or any pertinent document that will aid in job search are completed/obtained and uploaded to e-folder prior to students' exit. </li><li>Identifies support services needed for relocation, makes referrals to support services agencies. Develops and maintains a resource center for support services. </li><li>Assists in the coordination of job fairs and career days. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul>
