<p>Delta College Career Opportunities</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Title Business Services Representative - Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! (On-Site) Division/Department Michigan Works Employment Services Employee Group Administrative/Professional Status</p> <p>Full Time - Starting Salary: $47,600- $51,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience</p> <p>Position Summary Information</p> <p>Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions</p> <p>The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity and inclusion.</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>Delta College has a team of Business Service Representatives placed at the Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! offices. The Business Service Representative team will work directly with employers and be focused on providing outstanding customer service while promoting services of Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works!</p> <p>Delta College, serves as the region's leader in workforce training, has a team of Business Service Representatives (BST) placed at the Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! offices. This team works to support regional employers' workforce talent pipeline needs.</p> <p>The Business Services Representative's role is to form relationships with employers in the Great Lakes Bay region and assist them in a way that makes them more profitable. Individuals in this role will be assigned to work from a Michigan Works! service center in the Bay, Midland, Saginaw, Gratiot or Isabella county. Individuals serving in this role are expected to spend the majority of their workday out in the business community serving as a primary liaison between Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! and employers. Travel to and from businesses is an essential function of this role. The primary duty of this role is to serve in a salesforce capacity by establishing relationships and taking orders with businesses in the Great Lakes Bay region for the purpose of providing employment and business services. This is a grant funded position.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:</p> <ul> <li>Provide consultation and information to employers regarding all services available </li><li>Conduct presentations/public speaking at events and meetings as assigned </li><li>Develop contacts through initial (prospecting) visits to businesses that do not currently use GLBMW! services </li><li>Communicate services of other partners to businesses </li><li>Take orders and sell services effectively and handle objections </li><li>Develop and update Recruitment Resource Package </li><li>Develop relationships with Michigan Works! partners to foster referral relationships for Business Services division of GLBMW </li><li>Maintain awareness of local business expansions, hiring, and economic trends </li><li>Conduct outreach to employers through attendance and/or presentations at job/career fairs, business/agency/civic events, and individual business visits </li><li>Maintain professional and effective working relationships with local and regional business and community organizations </li><li>Attend business events (i.e. Chamber meetings, VSHRM, job/business fairs, Economic Development meetings) </li><li>Manage account territory and maintain active relationships with accounts </li><li>Develop employer relationships to lead to repeat business and referrals </li><li>Maintain accurate and timely records of employer outreach and activities in Customer Relationship Management system </li><li>Communicate/market employer training grant funding opportunities to eligible businesses </li></ul> <p>Business Customer Service and Relations</p> <ul> <li>Open and troubleshoot the State of Michigan's designated labor exchange system business accounts </li><li>Enter, modify, and deactivate job advertisements </li><li>Conduct resume searches and screen resumes per customer specifications </li><li>Write job advertisements, offer tips on writing job advertisements for the internet </li><li>Provide employer training/technical assistance of State of Michigan's designated labor exchange system business accounts features at businesses </li><li>Communicate with Michigan Works Administration and Michigan Economic Development Corporation as appropriate regarding State of Michigan's designated labor exchange system business accounts </li><li>Schedule/coordinate Single Company Job Fairs and interview rooms, serve as the on-site point of contact for the event and assure that event space is set up and taken down in accordance with service center standards. </li><li>Coordinate with appropriate program managers if assistance with event coverage is needed. </li><li>Maintain knowledge of current job seeker marketplace and provide employers with labor market information </li><li>Conduct follow up customer service calls </li><li>Identify "difficult to fill" positions and skill gaps, and relay related information to the Business Services Manager </li><li>Discuss various workforce needs with employer customers, brainstorm possible solutions, and relay related information to the Business Services Manager </li><li>Assist employers applying for training grant funding with technical assistance in the application process </li><li>Provide grant awarded employers technical assistance throughout a grant cycle to ensure timely and accurate grant oversight and close out </li><li>Refer employer inquiries to establish new or expanding apprenticeship programs to BSR Apprenticeship Specialist and follow up with business to ensure need was met. </li><li>Prepare routine and special reports as needed </li><li>Coordinate with program managers and front line staff to maximize participation in and success of employer events. </li><li>Coordinate with team leader/executive assistance to market employer hiring events and job openings on social media and to front line staff. </li><li>Provide support as assigned for any and all career exploration and employee fairs. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Evidence of intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. </li><li>Minimum of one-three year's experience in Sales, Business or Human Resources </li></ul> <p>Additional Experiences Considered</p> <ul> <li>4+ years experience in sales, business or human relations </li><li>2+ years additional Michigan Works program experience </li></ul> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>Position will remain open until filled.
