<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Head Start / School Readiness/Family Advocate</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>4/14/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Central Avenue Preschool</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>TBD</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>04/30/2026</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Family Advocate</p> <p>Central Avenue Preschool</p> <p>The Family Advocate will assist all Component Managers in fulfilling responsibilities by:</p> <ul> <li>Recruit and enroll all eligible families. </li><li>Update, maintain and monitor all family/child documentation, (enrollment, contacts, family goals/assessments, referrals, attendance list is not inclusive). </li><li>Home visitation as needed. </li><li>Make referrals and follow-up for all program components. </li><li>Assisting in the identification and assessment of community resources. </li><li>Facilitate parent involvement in all areas of program operation. </li><li>Availability for monthly evening parent meetings/workshops. </li><li>Assist in linking family/child to on-going health system or community support services. </li><li>Participate in educational and professional programs for personal and program growth and development. </li><li>Record/document/track all pertinent health, social service and educational information in child's file and tracking systems. </li><li>Inputs child and family information into the data collection system. </li><li>Direct participation in classroom educational activities. </li><li>Assist and attend in the planning and preparation of parent workshops. </li><li>Assist in establishing and maintaining good effective communication with local educational, medical and community agencies in providing services for children and families. </li><li>Assists in other program areas as designated by the Director. </li><li>Visit classrooms (one) day weekly or as needed to monitor children's files and assist teachers. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and tracking/data entry systems </li><li>Evidence of emotional maturity and stability. </li><li>Acceptable oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work in a warm supportive and positive manner with parents, children and staff. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality. </li><li>Good physical health. </li><li>Good organizational time management skills. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION:</p> <p>Bachelors or Associates Degree in Human Service, Social Work, Psychology or related</p> <p>Field and one year experience in public/private agencies. In lieu of education a</p> <p>combination of experience and training working with children and families will be considered. (Family Development Credential Preferred).</p> <p>Supervised By: Program Managers, Director</p>
