<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Responsible for working with providers, patients, and insurance companies to perform necessary prior authorization requirements for prescription drugs. The pharmacist will keep patients apprised of the status of their prescription requests and work with the patient in routing the prescription to the pharmacy. Additionally, the pharmacist will work with others to promote and grow the service with clinic staff across the organization. The pharmacist will oversee other staff that may be hired as part of the medication prior authorization team.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Daily review of prescriptions to determine if prior authorization is necessary</p> <p>Develop a rapport with insurance providers and other third-party payers to ensure good working relationships</p> <p>Utilize insurance portals and other systems to verify active insurance coverage</p> <p>Correspond with insurance companies to facilitate pertinent data for prior authorization requirements</p> <p>Monitor status of authorizations</p> <p>Respond appropriately to any denials</p> <p>Perform clerical duties as necessary, including composing letters or phone calls to patients, insurance companies, and referring providers</p> <p>Engages the Medication Assistance Coordinator as necessary</p> <p>Market the program with clinics on availability of provided service</p> <p>Provide leadership for the medication prior authorization service</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (Required) </li><li>Doctorate Degree </li></ul> <p>Credentials</p> <ul> <li>Pharmacist, Licensed (Required) </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Days</p> <p>Status: Full Time Regular 1.0</p> <p>Location: General Hospital</p> <p>Location of Job: US:WV:Charleston</p> <p>Talent Acquisition Specialist: Lisa C.
