<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Associate Director of Nursing Clinical Education works under the direction and in collaboration with the Director of Nursing Clinical Education, Associate/Assistant Deans for nursing, the nursing Chairperson, and Faculty Clinical Coordinators to support clinical educational experiences. Functions include acting as a liaison to clinical agencies facilitating off-site clinical and on-site simulation experiences, supporting adjunct clinical faculty, and ensuring compliance with internal nursing policies, and external regulatory and accreditation requirements. This position supports all nursing program tracks with emphasis on clinical programming within the ASN and RN to BS tracks. This role requires schedule flexibility to ensure staff clinical education leadership availability to provide guidance to clinical faculty teaching weekdays, during evening hours, and during weekend clinicals, as needed. This role requires periodic off-site visits to partner clinical sites to provide presence and monitor clinical sites as well as provide faculty support and evaluation in the clinical instructor role.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ol> <li>Administrative: </li></ol> <ul> <li>In collaboration with Faculty Clinical Coordinators, selects and evaluates clinical sites and experiences to ensure learning outcomes; </li><li>Seeks suitable alternatives for clinical education in collaboration with Faculty Clinical Coordinators in response to internal and external factors as needed; </li><li>Participates in annual meetings with external clinical agencies when requested by the Director of Nursing Clinical Education; </li><li>Maintains documentation of clinical agencies site visits, student site evaluations. </li><li>Assists to facilitate the agency contract review process as required; </li><li>Monitors and communicates changes in regulatory and agency requirements; </li><li>Follows up on any unusual occurrences with notification to Associate/Assistant Deans and faculty during regular work hours; </li><li>In collaboration with the Director of Nursing Clinical Education, reviews and updates clinical faculty training manuals, policies, or procedures at least annually; </li><li>Collaborates with the Clinical Placement Administrators during the Centralized Clinical Placement request process; </li><li>Is cross trained to facilitate agency affiliation agreements with an agency's Manager of Compliance and Scheduling and the College Legal Counsel; </li><li>Assists with the maintenance of current records of clinical contracts and certificates of liability. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Adjunct Clinical Faculty Oversight: </li></ol> <ul> <li>In collaboration with the Director of Nursing Clinical Education, provides orientation and onboarding to all new adjunct clinical faculty and provides ongoing support to MSN prepared faculty and BSN faculty who are in graduate programs or on waiver; </li><li>Recruits, interviews, hires, and onboards adjunct faculty; </li><li>In collaboration with the Director of Nursing Clinical Education, initiates adjunct clinical contracts; </li><li>Maintains agency specific and annual training documentation for clinical faculty; </li><li>Orients clinical faculty to Nursing clinical policies and role expectations; </li><li>Conducts site visits to evaluate and mentor novice, non-MSN faculty as well as providing support to experienced, MSN prepared faculty; </li><li>Co-coordinates, and attends clinical meetings with adjunct faculty and Faculty Clinical Coordinators at least twice a semester; </li><li>In collaboration with Associate/Assistant Deans, ensures review of student evaluations of clinical and faculty; </li><li>Provides support to adjunct faculty for urgent issues that emerge including those during evening or weekend hours. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Student Support: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Assigns students to clinical groups in collaboration with the Clinical Placement Administrators in consultation with Faculty Clinical Coordinators; </li><li>Facilitates alternative experiences for student who have had clinical absences based on plans created by the Faculty Clinical Coordinators and in conjunction with the Director/Associate Director of simulation and experiential learning. </li></ul> <p>Additional Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Participate in Nursing, Clinical Operations, and Simulation Advisory Board meetings; </li><li>Attend Centralized Clinical Placement and agency meetings; </li><li>Crosstrain to provide coverage for Clinical Placement Administrator role; </li><li>Acts as back up to the Director of Nursing Clinical Education as needed </li><li>Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy; </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Successful performance of this position demands consistent demonstration of the following uncompromised performance characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a genuine commitment to concern for achieving or surpassing results against legitimate and increasingly elevated standards of excellence, showing passion for continually improving the delivery of services. </li><li>Exhibits a high degree of initiative for bringing tasks to successful completion and succeeding in achieving stated goals. </li><li>Ability to assess employee "needs" and "wants" to deliver positive and professional outcomes. Implements decisive action appropriate to the position; assesses needs and concerns of the workplace environment in order to address current or future challenges. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Earned master's degree in nursing. </li><li>Previous teaching in a clinical setting. </li><li>Active and unencumbered MA RN license. </li><li>Driver's license to conduct off site clinical visits </li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Previous administrative experience within a nursing program is a plus. </li><li>Certification or ability to seek CNEcl credential </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>$70,000 to $75,000</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, Curry College will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity.
