<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Evaporator Operator is responsible for processing trap and wastewater product in an effort to reclaim quality product.</p> <p>2nd Shift</p> <p>Essential Duties/Responsibilities</p> <p>Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for communicating with the cooker operator and foreman to produce quality product through the evaporator. </li><li>Monitor equipment at start by checking raw material tanks to know percentage of grease to water; make sure system is primed with good grease. </li><li>Logs hourly readings; makes adjustments as necessary to equipment. </li><li>Responsible for shut down of equipment in correct sequence by following proper procedures </li><li>Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift. </li><li>Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum one (1) year prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment preferred. </li><li>Good mechanical aptitude & equipment troubleshooting; skilled in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment. </li><li>Good communication skills both oral and written. </li><li>Highly organized. </li><li>Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch. </li><li>Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 100 lbs. </li><li>Regularly required reach with hands and arms. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and/or cold temperatures.</p> <p>Darling Ingredients is an equal opportunity employer and gives consideration to qualified applicants without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, pregnancy, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetic information, physical or mental disability, military service, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state and local law.
