We are seeking an Athletics Event Assistant, for the Fall season, to join our Athletics Department.</p> <p>Job Summary: An Athletic Department Event Assistant's job involves providing administrative and operational support to the athletic director and coaching staff, assisting with event management and ensuring smooth operations for athletic events at Harrison High School.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Game and Event Management:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with planning and coordinating of athletic events, facility and entry gate setup and ticket sales management. </li><li>Collaborate with event management personnel, such as ticket takers, scorekeepers, security personnel, booster and concession operations at the respective athletic events. </li><li>Assist with game-day event management, including preparing the field or court. </li><li>Coordinate with event personnel, including sideline and press box staff, and officials. </li><li>Monitor the pre-game proceedings to enable the game to start as scheduled and proceed accordingly to a conclusion. </li><li>Be aware of and assist with first aid and emergency procedures during athletic events. </li><li>At the conclusion, lock all doors and gates, all electronics and lights are off; electronics and ticket box to Athletic Director office; report results to Athletic Director. </li></ul> <p>Communication and Promotion:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a point of contact for coaches, athletes, parents, and other stakeholders, relaying information and answering questions and problem-solving. </li><li>Utilize appropriate media/social media to relay game updates and final results, etc. </li><li>Collaborate with press box regarding any half-time promotions, recognitions, etc. </li><li>Communicate logistics to home and away coaching staff and officials regarding pre-game, half-time, and post-game meeting spaces. </li></ul> <p>Compliance and Risk Management:</p> <ul> <li>Assist student-athletes with various needs, such as providing information, resolving issues, and promoting their well-being. </li><li>Help monitor coach compliance with school policies and athletic regulations. </li><li>Report any facility issues to the Athletic Director for submission to maintenance personnel. </li><li>Complete any incident reports related to inappropriate spectator-related behaviors. </li><li>Enforce general security procedures including post-game procedures, strategies for keeping fans off the playing surface, safety for participants, officials, and fans. All security procedures should be reviewed with security personnel. </li><li>Follow all district and state policies related to high school athletic programs. </li></ul> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of state and league athletic rules and regulations. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaborate as a part of the team. </li><li>Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. </li><li>Ability to navigate and troubleshoot various technology programs utilized by Athletic Department. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Ohio Pupil Activity Permit. </li><li>Experience in coaching or athletic administration at the high school level. </li></ul> <p>Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with Students, Staff, and the public. The ability to communicate complex messages and problems/solutions simply and effectively.</p> <p>Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Ohio Pupil Activity Permit, Driver's License</p> <p>Other Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to maintain confidential information. </li><li>Must be consistently prompt and reliable. </li><li>Forward thinking approach to proactively handle problems that may arise. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Southwest Local School District participates in the Southwest Ohio Organization for School Health (SWOOSH).
