We shape the future of mobility and move beyond!</p> <p>Our Business Unit Rail Infrastructure supplies the global markets of rail and road-bound transport with innovative products and solutions for Rail Automation, Rail Electrification, and in the area of intermodal mobility, apps and backend systems. We contribute to energy saving and emission reduction with efficient automation systems</p> <p>The Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) will own a core portfolio of rail infrastructure and wayside systems that form the backbone of safe, reliable rail operations. This role is responsible for products including gate mechanisms, switch machines, axle counters, and structural systems (houses, cantilevers, masts, ladders, and wiring), as well as level crossing and wayside components such as electronic bells, shunts, inductors, flashing lights, barrier arms, surge protection, mechanical relays, resistors, arrestors, and signaling tools.</p> <p>In addition, the PLM will manage critical wayside signaling technologies, including color light signals, impedance bonds, and track circuit hardware such as transformers, power supplies, and couplers. These products operate in safety-critical, harsh field environments and require disciplined lifecycle ownership, deep technical understanding, and close alignment with customer operating needs.</p> <p>This role is ideal for an engineer-turned product leader who enjoys balancing mechanical and electrical systems, field reliability, customer engagement, and long-term portfolio strategy. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.</p> <p>What your day-to-day will look like:</p> <p>Product Strategy & Roadmap</p> <ul> <li>Own long-term (7-10 year) product roadmaps aligned to business cases, customer needs, market demand, and approved ADC budgets. </li><li>Drive cross-FPS alignment on roadmap priorities and strategic direction. </li></ul> <p>Revenue Growth & Sales Enablement</p> <ul> <li>Develop product-level sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets. </li><li>Partner with Sales to validate willingness to pay and support forecasts with clear assumptions. </li></ul> <p>Risk Management & Product Health</p> <ul> <li>Manage portfolio risk, including obsolescence, end-of-life planning, and manufacturing impacts. </li><li>Ensure alignment with railroad requirements, cybersecurity (including Subpart H), and quality standards. </li><li>Drive cost reduction initiatives and reduce warranty (NCC) costs. </li></ul> <p>Customer Engagement & Market Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Support customer engagements, field testing, trade shows, and sales efforts. </li><li>Lead structured customer feedback and market intelligence activities. </li><li>Establish market leadership through industry participation, presentations, and publications. </li></ul> <p>Competitive & Market Intelligence</p> <ul> <li>Maintain competitive product reviews, SWOT analyses, and market trend assessments. </li></ul> <p>New Product Introduction & Innovation</p> <ul> <li>Lead URS development and NPI execution, including pilots, cutovers, and training. </li><li>Ensure readiness of all sales and marketing materials. </li><li>Drive innovation through partnerships, private labeling, or acquisition opportunities. </li><li>Proactively manage product end-of-life decisions. </li></ul> <p>Operational Excellence & Governance</p> <ul> <li>Implement work with clear ownership, accountability, and disciplined follow-through. </li><li>Lead structured meetings and maintain required lifecycle artifacts. </li><li>Contribute to a high-performance, safety-focused, collaborative culture. </li></ul> <p>To thrive in this role you have:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical subject area. </li><li>Deep technical expertise within product scope, with the ability to confidently guide technical, commercial, and customer decisions. </li><li>Demonstrated product lifecycle management expertise, recognized as a trusted subject-matter expert. </li><li>Strong commercial and sales partnership skills, effectively positioning value to drive revenue and margin growth. </li><li>Proven ability to implement with rigor, including clear requirements, documented decisions, accountability, and follow-through. </li><li>Creative and innovative thinker who identifies differentiated product solutions and new business opportunities. </li><li>High level of ownership and drive, delivering measurable business results with urgency. </li><li>Safety-first approach, proactively identifying and mitigating technical, regulatory, and operational risks. </li><li>Strong collaboration and humility, valuing diverse perspectives and continuous learning. </li><li>Willingness to travel 25%-50% domestically during peak periods. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Active AREMA member </li><li>Active WCC member </li></ul> <p>#LI-AW1</p> <p>You'll Benefit From</p> <p>Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees.
