The archaeologist career path provides the opportunity to work on projects that require compliance</p> <p>with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA),</p> <p>Native American Graves Repatriation and Protection Act (NAGPRA), and other federal, state, and local cultural resource regulations.</p> <p>Based out of the Front Range of Colorado, you'll serve as a key team member working with scientists, engineers, project managers, and other project staff across business sectors and practices in the company; interface with clients; and coordinate consultation with State Historic Preservation Officers, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, Native American tribes, and multiple state and federal agencies. You'll conduct coordinate, oversee, and conduct archaeological fieldwork, including Phases I-III studies and archaeological monitoring; analyze project impacts as part of Section 106 and other regulations; analyze and interpret data; write and review cultural resources technical reports; develop archaeological treatment plans and agreement documents; and evaluate eligibility of resources for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and state registers. You will also prepare proposals, provide technical reviews of deliverables, provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level employees, and serve as a mentor within the cultural resources group.</p> <p>#LI-AC4</p> <p>Here's what you'll need</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field </li><li>Meet Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards for </li></ul> <p>Archaeology</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 8 years of professional archaeological fieldwork </li><li>Experience as a Principal Investigator </li><li>Knowledge of historic preservation laws and policies, including NEPA, NHPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA </li><li>Must be capable of walking for long periods of time over unfamiliar terrain, excavating shovel tests and test units, screening soil, and carrying field equipment </li><li>Must be willing and able to travel frequently and for long periods of time, as needed </li><li>Experience using GPS technology </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Experience working with tribal groups </li></ul> <p>Ideally, You'll Also Have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in the consulting environment and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be responsive to both internal and external clients </li><li>A Registered Professional Archaeologist designation </li><li>Experience completing cultural resources studies for infrastructure, electrical transmission, federal agencies, renewable </li></ul> <p>energy, and/or remediation projects</p> <ul> <li>Existing relationships with the tribal community </li></ul> <p>Posted Salary Range: Minimum</p> <p>96,100.00</p> <p>Posted Salary Range: Upper</p> <p>133,000.00</p> <p>Jacobs' health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
