<p>The Estimator - Costing Specialist - Plumbing is responsible for the ongoing management and accuracy of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Piece Rate databases. This position supports the estimating, procurement, and operations teams by ensuring material and labor data is consistently maintained to enable accurate project costing, forecasting, and reporting. The role is critical in supporting business decision-making through strong data stewardship, process alignment, and cross-functional collaboration.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <p>BOM and Piece Rate Data Management</p> <ul> <li>Create, update, and maintain Bill of Materials and Piece Rate Databases with accurate and current information. </li><li>Ensure consistency, version control, and audit readiness across all records. </li><li>Implement quality control processes to validate data accuracy and resolve discrepancies. </li></ul> <p>Cross-Functional Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with Estimating, Procurement, and Field Compliance teams to align cost data with real-world operations. </li><li>Distribute updated materials lists and labor rate sheets to stakeholders in a timely manner. </li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for cost data inquiries and updates. </li></ul> <p>Cost Analysis and Support</p> <ul> <li>Support estimating teams by providing timely and detailed cost data for bids and project planning. </li><li>Assist in the development of cost reports and dashboards to inform leadership decisions. </li><li>Analyze trends in material and labor costs to proactively identify cost-saving opportunities. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Systems and Process Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Use technology tools (Excel, BOLT, SAGE, PDF markup tools) to streamline data input and reporting. </li><li>Recommend improvements to existing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual work. </li><li>Document standard operating procedures for maintaining databases. </li></ul> <p>Documentation Management</p> <ul> <li>Organize and manage project-specific takeoffs, cut sheets, and related materials. </li><li>Communicate requirements for missing or updated documentation to Field Compliance. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING</p> <ul> <li>Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. </li><li>3+ years of experience in construction costing, estimating, or data coordination roles. </li><li>Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP). </li><li>Experience with ERP, costing, or estimating systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, NetSuite). </li><li>Familiarity with Bluebeam, Adobe, or similar PDF markup tools. </li><li>Excellent organization and file management skills. </li></ul> <p>STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. </li><li>Maintain a professional demeanor with team members and customers. </li><li>Maintain company information in a confidential manner. </li><li>Attends work regularly and on time with a minimum of tardiness/absences and adheres to company policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness.
