<p>Controls Engineer</p> <p>We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems for custom automation projects. You'll join a growing manufacturing organization with strong benefits, career development, and a steady pipeline of work.</p> <p>Location: Danbury, CT (On-site)</p> <p>Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent</p> <p>Salary Range: $70,000-$120,000</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>Control System Development</p> <ul> <li>Design and develop PLC and loop control systems based on project requirements. </li><li>Program and troubleshoot PLCs and Loop Controllers (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modicon/Schneider Electric, Preferred Instruments). </li><li>Develop and maintain HMI interfaces for operator use. </li></ul> <p>Documentation & Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Create and update documentation for control system designs and modifications. </li><li>Work closely with project managers, electrical/mechanical/software engineers, and proposal teams. </li></ul> <p>Testing & Commissioning</p> <ul> <li>Participate in performance testing, commissioning, and project startups. </li><li>Support combustion-related control systems (Burner Management, Drum Level, Draft Control, Fuel-Air Ratio). </li></ul> <p>Travel: Up to 10% for meetings and site visits.</p> <p>Must-Have Skills</p> <ul> <li>PLC programming & troubleshooting </li><li>Electrical/controls engineering experience </li><li>Controls system design experience </li><li>Proficiency with: </li><li>Ladder Logic (LL) </li><li>Function Block Diagram (FBD) </li><li>PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Nice-to-Have Skills</p> <ul> <li>HMI programming </li><li>Allen-Bradley & Siemens PLC expertise </li><li>SCADA systems (IFIX, Citect, Ignition) </li><li>Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP) </li><li>Controls testing & field troubleshooting </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field </li><li>Hands-on experience with PLC systems </li><li>Understanding of industrial communication protocols </li><li>Familiarity with SCADA and HMI development tools </li></ul> <p>Why Join</p> <ul> <li>Growing manufacturer with long-term stability </li><li>Strong benefits and employee-focused culture </li><li>Clear opportunities for advancement </li><li>Collaborative on-site engineering environment </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Danbury, CT.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $120000.00/yr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
