<p>Posting Number: 20254385S Position Title: Assistant Director, Undergraduate Student Outreach Position Type: Staff Location: Villanova, PA Recruitment Type: Internal/External Applicants Work Schedule: full-time/12-months Avg Hours Week Department: 201-Dean-Engineering Position Summary:</p> <p>In close collaboration with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs, the Assistant Director, Undergraduate Student Recruitment and Involvement, is responsible for ensuring excellence in the prospective student recruitment provided by the Engineering Office for Undergraduate Affairs. The Assistant Director is the lead and primary point of contact at the College level for prospective undergraduate student recruitment. This person manages and leads undergraduate recruiting events on campus (e.g. Preview Day and Candidate's Days) and represents the College at undergraduate recruiting events off campus. The individual also oversees student organizations within College, including providing guidance to faculty advisors, developing and executing student leadership training and best practices, and working with the University Student Involvement Office on budget allocations.</p> <p>Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. The University is an equal opportunity employer and seeks candidates who understand, respect and can contribute to the University's mission and values.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Lead and ensure excellence in all College of Engineering prospective student recruitment efforts:</p> <ul> <li>Work with University Admissions to develop and execute all on campus undergraduate recruiting and orientation events for the College, including Admitted Students Day, Early Action Candidates Weekend, and Preview Days. </li><li>Serve as the initial point of contact for all inquiries/requests from prospective students and family members. </li><li>Meet with individual families (>120/year) through group information sessions and develop individual itineraries for families as needed. </li><li>Track and collect data on all prospective student activities (e.g.: location, attendance, demographic breakdown, etc.) </li><li>Track, collect and disseminate data on number of admitted and enrolled students </li><li>Coordinate with University Student Life to manage and execute Orientation events. </li><li>Limited travel (up to 10%) may be required </li></ul> <p>Lead pre-College outreach efforts within the College of Engineering</p> <ul> <li>Co-manage the College's signature pre-College outreach programs, including advertising the programs, review and screening of applicants, and management of associated budget indexes </li><li>Serve as primary staff advisor for all student-led organizations which involve pre-College outreach </li><li>Collect and disseminate data where appropriate on the outcomes and effectiveness on the College's pre-College recruitment efforts </li></ul> <p>Serve as liaison to student-led organizations within the College</p> <ul> <li>Manage the budget indexes for student organizations within the College. </li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for financial processes for all student groups within the College. </li><li>Work with student groups to coordinate events, conferences, and ordering supplies. </li><li>Work with the Office of Student Involvement to allocate and track budgets for all engineering student groups. </li><li>Serve as liaison to new and continuing faculty advisors of student organizations </li><li>Develop and execute annual onboarding of student organization leaders </li><li>Assess activity level and effectiveness of student organizations </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Formal Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>1-3 years of experience working directly with undergraduate students and/or prospective college students, preferably in an academic setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Thorough understanding of the academic, personal, and professional development needs of undergraduate students.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent customer service skills required. Strong program and project management skills required.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the following software is required:</p> </li><li> <p>Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g.: Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop and nurture relationships with students, faculty, University offices, outside service providers and team members in a collaborative manner. Must be a team player, able to work independently and have a strong customer service orientation. Ability to manage multiple projects and events in a fast-paced environment.
