<p>General Summary & Essential Responsibilities</p> <p>Provides intake, assessment and prioritization for persons seeking human service programs from a "whole person" perspective. Performs professional and administrative work implementing programs and activities in the County's Human Services Department.Incumbents are responsible for assessing the needs of clients; determining program participant eligibility and/or referral for appropriate services of various federal, state and local programs; and referring clientele to other assisting agencies.Work entails considerable communication and coordination with other government and community agencies in the identification of human needs and in the delivery of services as well as some monitoring.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Performs the essential duties of the Intake Coordinator. </li><li>Manages special programs as assigned. </li><li>Assesses the needs of individuals and families and determines eligibility for various programs, conducting off-site visits as required. </li><li>Coordinates service delivery with other government and community agencies and resolves problems as identified. </li><li>Ensures that client records and file documentation contain all required and appropriate information, including the review of records for accuracy in eligibility determination and documentation. </li><li>Monitors budgeted allocations for various programs to prevent under/overspending. </li><li>Performs computer data entry to meet program requirements. </li><li>Performs basic administrative duties including written reports, memorandums, letters, and electronic correspondence, interaction with others, and communication through telephone and meetings. </li><li>Assists and/or prepares for submission of various reports for grants. </li><li>Manages record keeping, monitors clients, and maintains database to ensure program and grant compliance. </li><li>Assists in planning and participates in client-focused training activities. </li><li>Attends and represents Human Services at various community meetings upon request. </li><li>Assists with social media, website and outreach. </li><li>Provides exceptional customer assistance, problem-solving, and/or complaint resolution by all forms of communication. </li></ul> <p>Min. Education, Licenses and Certifications</p> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate Degree:</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred:</p> </li><li> <p>Human Services</p> </li><li> <p>Psychology</p> </li><li> <p>Counseling</p> </li><li> <p>Sociology</p> </li><li> <p>Public Administration</p> </li><li> <p>Two (2) of relevant experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Special Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a valid driver's license. </li><li>Must obtain Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Level II background clearance within sixty (60) days of employment for Civil Citation Case Coordinator. </li><li>Must obtain program specific certifications as required. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of departmental policies, plans, and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of modern office practices, plans, and procedures. </li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other job-related computer programs and software applications. </li><li>Knowledge of modern governmental office practices, procedures, equipment, standard clerical/administrative support techniques. </li><li>Knowledge of the principles and practices of program administration including client screening and assessment techniques. </li><li>Analytical and research skills. </li><li>Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing. </li><li>Skill in prioritizing and organizing work. </li><li>Skill in the use of office equipment such as a computer, multi-line telephone system, scanner, fax machine, and copier. </li><li>Ability to access, coordinate and utilize community resources in advocating for client needs. </li><li>Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures established by federal, state, county, and/or grant funding sources as applicable. </li><li>Ability to use good judgment, display patience, interest and concern for the indigent, children, disabled, elderly, and at-risk individuals. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain accurate tracking systems, records, and reports. </li><li>Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. </li><li>Ability to make recommendations and to use resourcefulness and tact in solving new problems. </li><li>Ability to ascertain priorities and meet deadlines and objectives. </li><li>Ability to prepare effective correspondence on routine matters and to perform routine administrative functions without referral to supervisor. </li><li>Ability to interact with the public in a positive and effective manner, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships. </li><li>Ability to operate a motor vehicle. </li><li>Ability to provide internal/external guidance and customer assistance via all forms of communication. </li><li>Ability to use computers for data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes. </li><li>Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, service providers, other employees, and the general public. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>Stooping, walking, sitting, pulling, grasping, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>Work is primarily performed indoors but requires some exposure to environmental changes (e.g., outdoor weather and/or field conditions, warehouses, covered loading docks, garages, etc.) or irate customers, extreme noise, odors, heights and/or dust.</p> <p>RISK/SAFETY CONDITIONS</p> <p>There is little or no risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety associated with this position.</p>
