Interested applicants must apply online by visiting the Denver Public Schools job board at careers.dpsk12.org.</p> <p>About this job:</p> <p>Under the direction of Registered Nurse, Summer CNA's provide support for basic student care that meets summer program guidelines and performance standards for students participating in the summer programs. Works directly with with parents, children and summer program staff to ensure identified health and dental needs are addressed.</p> <p>These are temporary summer positions for June 5th - July 10th.</p> <p>What DPS Offers You:</p> <ul> <li>A Culture that values Equity, Accountability, Integrity, Collaboration and Fun with a shared vision that Every Learner Thrives. </li><li>Hourly Rate: $25.20 per hour </li><li>In addition to competitive compensation, DPS has other Total Reward offerings such as; time off, health and wellness benefits, and PERA Retirement. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Ensures compliance with related laws and policies, such as reporting suspected child abuse and immunization and Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) laws </li><li>Assists with and/or completes health screenings (e.g. vision, hearing, dental, height, weight, etc.); collaborates with parent/guardian and relevant staff to obtain physical examinations as required, per summer program guidelines </li><li>Reviews health and nutrition histories and follows up on health concerns; completes health and developmental history </li><li>Determines immunizations are current at the time of summer programs enrollment and a written plan is in place to ensure needed immunizations are completed in a timely manner </li><li>Determines or assists in establishing a source of ongoing and accessible medical and dental care during the summer programs </li><li>Collaborates with Registered Nurse and other staff as appropriate to develop Health Care Action Plans for specific health care concerns; maintains ongoing communication with appropriate staff to assure completion and coordination of services to children and families </li><li>Works with school based health staff/RNs to consult on medical referrals, and if needed, to provide triage for minor acute illnesses and accidents </li><li>Maintains accurate and organized records, including utilization of District and program databases and other technology platforms, to ensure accuracy of monthly and annual reports </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li>Hold a High School Diploma/GED - Required </li><li>Have a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License </li><li>Must have a valid Colorado driver's license or be able to obtain a Colorado driver's license within the state's required time frame for new residents and meet the District's insurability requirements. </li><li>1+ year of relevant experience is preferred; pediatric experience is preferred </li><li>Bilingual in Spanish preferred </li><li>Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. </li><li>Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. </li><li>Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position. </li></ul> <p>Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
