We strive to provide high-quality services by hiring skilled professionals committed to excellence in their field.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The HVAC Technician provides HVAC services including identifying repair and replacement needs, installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment. This role also assists other skilled trades and ensures that tools</p> <p>and materials are available at the job site.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Cleans Units: Clean air conditioning and heating units (e.g., coils, condensation pans, drain lines) to ensure proper operation and safety. </li><li>Coordinates Work: Collaborate with assigned leads, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently. Participate in a 24-hour rotation list. </li><li>Diagnoses Issues: Identify causes of problems or failures in HVAC systems (e.g., water leaks, odors, noise issues) to determine repair or replacement needs. </li><li>Fabricates Parts: Create equipment parts to meet specialty needs or replace unavailable parts. </li><li>Informs Personnel: Update personnel on procedures and work order status to assist decision-making and compliance with regulations. </li><li>Installs Equipment: Install heating and air conditioning systems to enhance or upgrade capabilities. </li><li>Maintains Tools: Ensure vehicle, tools, and equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition. </li><li>Monitors Contracts: Oversee contract work to ensure terms are met and standards are upheld. </li><li>Monitors Systems: Evaluate HVAC systems and components to identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance. </li><li>Participates in Training: Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions as assigned to gather or convey information for job functions. </li><li>Performs Maintenance: Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to ensure HVAC systems function properly. </li><li>Documents Activities: Prepare written materials (e.g., repair status, activity logs) to document activities and communicate information. </li><li>Repairs Systems: Repair heating and air conditioning systems and components (e.g., pumps, motors, air handlers) to maintain a comfortable environment. </li><li>Requests Supplies: Order equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability for installations and repairs. </li><li>Responds to Emergencies: Address emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns. </li><li>Transports Materials: Move tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure materials are available at job sites. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: Targeted job-related education with study in a related area.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience: Job-related experience in a specialized field is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Skills:</p> </li><li> <p>Operating equipment for HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Planning and managing projects</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining accurate records</p> </li><li> <p>Handling hazardous materials</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge:</p> </li><li> <p>Indoor air monitoring equipment and interpreting resulting data</p> </li><li> <p>Standards for design and construction</p> </li><li> <p>Air conditioning and heating codes</p> </li><li> <p>Hazards and safety precautions</p> </li><li> <p>Abilities:</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule activities and meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Gather, collate, and classify data</p> </li><li> <p>Adapt to changing work priorities</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with diverse groups</p> </li><li> <p>Meet deadlines and work as part of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Work with a variety of equipment and conditions</p> </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>FHSD offers a competitive benefits package for eligible employees, including:</p> <ul> <li>Medical and dental plan options </li><li>Vision coverage </li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) </li><li>District-paid basic life insurance </li><li>District-paid Short Term Disability </li><li>Paid holidays </li></ul> <p>Family coverage, long-term disability, and additional life insurance options available at the employee's expense.</p> <p>We look forward to receiving your application and potentially welcoming you to the FHSD team!</p>
