OCS is a small, family-centered public school located in Columbus, OH, dedicated to serving students with a wide range of academic abilities. We are looking for a dedicated Science Teacher to inspire and engage our students while making a positive impact in their academic journeys.</p> <p>Why OCS? The ideal candidate will be skilled at adapting scientific concepts to meet the individual needs of each student while fostering a love for learning.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities: Plan and Deliver Science Lessons: Create engaging and hands-on lessons that make science concepts accessible to students with ASD.</p> <p>Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe and productive classroom environment where students can thrive.</p> <p>Assess and Evaluate Student Progress: Monitor student understanding of scientific concepts and adjust lessons accordingly.</p> <p>Support Individual Learning Needs: Modify lesson plans and strategies to address the unique needs of each student.</p> <p>Collaborate with Parents and Staff: Maintain open communication with parents to discuss student progress and address concerns.</p> <p>Foster a Positive Science Learning Environment: Encourage student curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking in science.</p> <p>Behavior and Intervention Support: Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques and recommend interventions when necessary.</p> <p>Qualifications: Licensed Science Teacher in the State of Ohio</p> <p>Experience or a strong understanding of teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)</p> <p>Ability to adapt lessons to the varying academic needs of students</p> <p>Enthusiasm for science and a passion for teaching</p> <p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</p> <p>Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible with student needs</p> <p>Why Apply?
