<p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The LPN works under the Supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and/or the Medical Director to provide services for both preventative health and urgent health care needs for students at Northeastern University presenting to University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS).</p> <p>This is a full-time, 5 day a week, 40 hours a week position. Hours may include 10am to 2pm or 12pm - 4pm on Saturdays (except for June, July and August) and one weekday evening.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Preparing patients for clinical visits and check in process, point of care testing.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides patient instruction and education as directed by clinical staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Aids in scheduling follow-up visits for students after clinic visits, hospital or specialist visits.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting with medication administration in clinic/ vaccinations/therapeutic injections and related duties which may include completing tasks such as EKG's, ear lavage etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting in facility preparation, stocking and ordering supplies and maintenance.</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting in developing educational materials for colleagues</p> </li><li> <p>Provides education and support for students regarding self-care and navigation of health systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides clinical support and guidance to Medical Assistants, other LPN's and RN's.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports implementation of defined quality assurance standards. Assists with management of medical and pharmaceutical supply monitoring.</p> </li><li> <p>Professional Development: Participates in team meetings, peer and qualitative reviews as assigned, staff development programs as assigned and maintains professional licenses and certifications.</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li> <p>Current, unrestricted, Massachusetts LPN license required.</p> </li><li> <p>Current Basic Life Support</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in ambulatory setting</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to perform safely while engaged in sequential and simultaneous responsibilities in a busy outpatient clinical setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong written and verbal communication</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in computer systems required including web based and Microsoft office applications.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrated success in working inclusively and collaboratively in a college health setting with domestic and international students</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience in a fast-paced student facing environment preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of Massachusetts Immunization Compliance preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Type</p> <p>Student Services</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.</p> <p>Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit eligible employees.
