IonQ is at the forefront of this technological revolution.</p> <p>We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Research Scientist, Fabrication to join our cross-functional team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, fabricating, and optimizing our cutting-edge quantum interconnect platform, a critical component for scalable, distributed trapped-ion quantum computing systems. Your work will directly impact the development of a photonics interconnect technology that is essential to our mission of building the world's best quantum computers.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Drive the optimization and sustainment of advanced fabrication recipes for nano-photonic devices, leveraging state-of-the-art e-beam and direct-write lithography techniques across various substrates. </li><li>Establish robust inline metrology monitors and statistical process control for lithography and other critical fabrication processes, ensuring precision and reliability. </li><li>Provide critical insights to our design teams by analyzing and interpreting complex scientific data derived from fabrication processes. </li><li>Work collaboratively within a dynamic, interdisciplinary team, contributing to a shared vision of technological advancement. </li></ul> <p>You'd be a good fit with:</p> <ul> <li>Ph.D. in physics, engineering or related field/discipline </li><li>5+ years of hands-on experience in the fabrication, design, simulation, and optimization of nano-structured devices, including expertise in lithography, dry and wet etching, annealing, chemical vapor deposition, and physical vapor deposition </li><li>Demonstrated experience with simulation tools for nano-structured device design (e.g., Lumerical, COMSOL, Flexcompute, or similar). </li><li>Strong proficiency in data processing, visualization, and organization. </li><li>Familiarity with comprehensive fabrication processes and design constraints for nano-structures. </li></ul> <p>You'd be a great fit with:</p> <ul> <li>7+ years of dedicated experience in nanophotonics design and characterization. </li><li>3+ years of industry experience </li><li>Experience working with heterogeneous integration and on-chip components </li><li>Experience designing, building, and using optical testing infrastructure, including automated testing systems </li></ul> <p>Location: Prefer that this role work onsite from our Boston, MA office.</p> <p>Travel: Less than 10%</p> <p>The approximate base salary range for this position is $107,123 - $140,251. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.</p>
