<p>Job Description:</p> <p>2025-2026 Position Available -MS Science</p> <p>The Gilbert School Science Department is seeking experienced, creative, collaborative, professional candidates to teach middle school Science. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards and the inquiry approach. The candidate will be asked to prepare engaging and thought-provoking lessons aligned with NGSS standards providing hands-on laboratory experience with a project-based learning approach.</p> <p>An interest in Physics and/or robotics would also strengthen candidacy.</p> <p>Requirements / Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>CT Certification (034) General Science, 7-12 </li><li>Understanding NGSS curriculum requirements, and creating syllabi, lesson plans, and educational content that satisfy these requirements. </li><li>Incorporate innovation and technology into teaching methodology. </li><li>Keep abreast of developments and research in the field, and use this to ensure lessons are relevant. </li><li>Attend meetings, training sessions, workshops, conferences, and other continuing education initiatives. </li><li>Keeping the line of communication open between students, staff, and parents. </li><li>Tutoring experience would be advantageous. </li><li>Patience, innovation, and knowledge of classroom management and student discipline. </li><li>Ability to foster and facilitate learning and classroom management </li><li>Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others </li></ul> <p>Interested candidates should complete online application at www.gilbertschool.org and include a letter of intent, resume, 3 letters of recommendation, transcripts and certification.</p> <p>All questions should be directed to Greg Shugrue, Head of School at shugrueg@gilbertschool.org</p>
