<p>The Disability Services Office is looking for a dependable Captioning Specialist. This position works with a team to make videos or audio recordings accessible for all students. The primary responsibilities of the position are as follows:</p> <p>? Provide captions (subtitles) in English using specialized captioning software.</p> <p>? Review course videos and other media to ensure accurate and complete captions are embedded.</p> <p>? Add or edit captions when needed.</p> <p>? Ensure that background noises, auditory cues, and speaker identification are included in the edited captions.</p> <p>? Capture, store and retrieve videos, audio or other information.</p> <p>? Operate computerized captioning system.</p> <p>? Follow WCAG 2.1 Captioning Guidelines.</p> <p>This position must maintain student confidentiality in compliance with</p> <p>FERPA.</p> <p>This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>? High school diploma or equivalent.</p> <p>? Computer proficient.</p> <p>? Ability to work independently or with little supervision, reliable, and able to complete work within time constraints.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>? Strong typing skills (50-60 WPM)</p> <p>? English proficient, spelling, and proper use of grammar and punctuation.</p> <p>? One year college experience or similar related experience.</p> <p>? Strong communication skills (written and verbal)</p> <p>? Work study eligible.</p> <p>Background Check?
