<p>Overview</p> <p>Join our team as a variable shift, full-time, Medical Group Receptionist in Old Hook, NJ.</p> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <p>Thrive in a People-First Environment and Make Healthcare Better</p> <ul> <li>Thrive: We empower our team with career growth opportunities, tuition assistance, and resources that support your wellness, education, and financial well-being. </li><li>People-First: We prioritize your well-being with paid time off, comprehensive health benefits, and a supportive, inclusive culture where you are valued and cared for. </li><li>Make Healthcare Better: We use advanced technology to support our team and enhance patient care. </li><li>Learn more about the benefits offered for this job. </li></ul> <p>Get to Know Your Team:</p> <ul> <li>Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>The Receptionist provides a superior level of secretarial duties and reception services to the doctor, patients, and staff. </li><li>Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. </li><li>Updates all patient files and makes sure documents are accurate, confidential, and compliant. </li><li>Greets, checks in, and checks out patients, and advises other medical staff of the arrival of patients. </li><li>Assists in maintaining inventory of necessary supplies and all instruments. </li><li>Schedules appointments, follows up with no-call, no-shows, and the discharge of patients. </li><li>Answers inbound calls to the practice, as well as greets vendors and sets vendor appointments. </li><li>Conveys messages in writing, electronically, and verbally. </li><li>Maintains Physicians' calendars, prepares doctors' notes (return to work, school, or leave notices), and all other correspondence as directed. </li><li>Scans, files, and faxes documents, as well as prepares and sorts mail. </li><li>Ensures the waiting and reception areas are kept orderly and clean, and will report on any damage to furniture, supplies, or equipment. </li><li>Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patients' family members in a compassionate and kind manner. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or GED equivalent.</p> </li><li> <p>Higher education may be substituted for experience.</p> </li><li> <p>1+ years' experience in customer service.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic to intermediate EMR knowledge.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to multitask, can work in a fast-paced clinical environment, can engage patients, peers, and supervisors in a dedicated, comforting, respectful, and effective way, and has the ability to adapt to change.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in a related field of study. </li></ul> <p>Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.</p>
