EO/AA</p> <p>This position supervises the daily activities of the assigned department by coordinating in-service and ongoing education, monitoring quality control, and safety processes, hiring and training new staff, evaluating performance, and scheduling work shifts. Reporting staff operates in support of the customer service and navigation services that are adjacent to, but not a designated part of clinical care. Staff has regular interaction with the patient/family during their visit to the facility, however has no involvement in the coordination of medical treatment. Join our team! uofuhealth.org/jobfairs. </li><li>Please check your email for any updates on this job! </li><li></li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Supervises the daily operations of the department including the interviewing and hiring of staff, training, creation of work schedules, and work assignment distribution. </li><li>Enforces the department's written standards of practice, policies and procedures, and initiates corrective action as necessary. </li><li>Evaluates job performance to ensure department job standards are being maintained. </li><li>Resolves problems, provides support, and expedites service to hospital departments. </li><li>Monitors safety and quality assurance functions by inspecting processes for completeness and accuracy. </li><li>Maintains department records and prepares monthly reports. </li><li>Monitors, orders and maintains stock of department supplies and equipment. </li><li>Participates in hospital committees and meetings, as assigned. </li><li>May assist in budget preparation. </li><li>Performs additional duties of the department, as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. </li><li>Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes. </li><li>Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment. </li><li>Ability to develop relationships with patients, guests, and co-workers. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to ensure patient information is guarded and respected. </li><li>Demonstrated organization, human relations, and effective communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in a related field, or the equivalency. </li><li>Two years of experience in a related area. </li><li>Depending upon department of hire, a valid, Utah Driver's License may be required. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications (Preferred)</p> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>One year of experience in a supervisory capacity. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Demands</p> <p>Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.</p> <ul> <li>This position involves intermediate working conditions in a healthcare setting that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require light work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects involving patient care or medical equipment. This position may be required to use a 6 foot step ladder. This position may stand for sustained periods of time and/or walk for long distances moving from one work site to another.
