<p>The Director of New Product Development (NPD) Engineering leads the team of engineers, designers, technicians, and support staff to develop new products and improve existing products utilizing the Morgan Olson NPD Process from Concept through Production.</p> <ul> <li>Sets Goals/Objectives, priorities and strategy for R&D </li><li>Participates in program and strategic planning with Engineering Leadership Team </li><li>Guide product development activities utilizing Morgan Olson NPD Process and supporting tools. </li><li>Reviews and provides guidance on designs and manages R&D Team timelines for assigned tasks </li><li>Create and monitor sub team timelines in support of the overall project timeline </li><li>Provide oversight and coordination of Research and Development workload </li><li>Track developmental metrics and cost drivers such as Bills of Material, Labor, and Tooling </li><li>Create and monitor resource plan for the Research and Development team </li><li>Interviews and hires new staff; prioritizes, assigns and reviews work, approves time off for </li></ul> <p>payroll purposes, and prepares and reviews employee performance evaluations.</p> <ul> <li>Sets priorities and adjusts workload accordingly </li><li>Work with manufacturing engineers to resolve design issues of vehicles in development </li><li>Communicates/coordinates with suppliers to develop specifications for products and subcomponents. </li><li>Provides feedback for customer on feasibility/cost of project </li><li>Support cross-functional team activities. </li></ul> <p>Required Education: Bachelor's Degree</p> <p>Virtual Job: false</p>
